You already know mine...nothing special like those above but as a former Navy Corpsman attached to a MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) I've done my share of supporting those in harm's way.

I can't vote in the poll because I'm not a veteran, but my dad was in the Air Force for several years.

Every six months (with the help of a few GREAT MOL members) I put together goodie bags/care packages to send to our brave Men and Women, just a little way to say thank you.

                            All,

Just so you know I posted this poll not as a competition, but as a way of showing the rest of the forum how many of us help or have helped keep our country free. Also, people often try to get my goat by saying "GO ARMY! Beat NAVY!" I simply reply with "The last time I checked the RED, WHITE, and BLUE does not discriminate against which service sacrifices its men and women for it." Thank you to all of you men and women from all of the OTHER services who have deployed, lost family and friends and for your sacrifices you make each and every day for MY freedom. The only way we will continue to maintain this great country FREE is through TEAMWORK!! Good Job to all and oh,......................GO NAVY!!! LOL

Re: Are You a VETERAN???? Active Duty, Retired or Reserve??

My father served in the Marines during World War II (logistics). My eldest son served in the Army (tank corps) and was in Bosnia for a year. My third son is presently in the Marines training to fly jets.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I did not serve in our country's armed services, but like so many others, I did not want to go to Viet Nam. Plus, I was, and am, pretty much a wimp. I don't think I would have made a very good soldier.

But I am sure proud of my late father and two sons.
