    Re: Operation Repo

I watched a few of the first episodes but just can't watch is any more as it's just _so_ fake. Hired actors (poor ones at that) to play the people getting their stuff repo'ed and the whole situations are faked. I'm pretty much done with fake "reality" TV. It's really just pointless. I can accept careful editing to make something more entertaining but when the whole show is scripted.... I'll pass.

P.S. The big bald guy is also a _terrible_ actor.

At first I thought it was real too but the more I watched the more I started picking things out. One thing is that they never show any ID, which repo's have to do in many places. 2nd did anyone catch the episode where Matt flipped the BMW? No cop to be found, if this really happened I'm sure the cops would have been all over it!
In the beginning the disclaimer stated that they are recreations based on actual events, and that the names have been changed.
Either which way it's fun to watch and I really don't doubt some of the things they run into.
The world is a strange...strange place!
Hi, Yea but i dont think its fake at all. When i had crashed my sports bike last week into a curb n almost hit a car or two, I was standing beside it on the ground for half an hour and cars parked with me there in the city and no cops showed up. Thats like what happened with Matt and the bmw, nobody decided to call the cops and get the cops involded and charge him with careless driving, just like me.

        Re: Operation Repo

The show is a reenactment of repossession. I do repossession in Michigan. Every state has laws for "self-help" repossession. Self-help meaning repossession without the assistance of the court or law enforcement/court officer who usually handles claim and delivery court orders. The company name they drop once in a while was a real legit company at one time. After the first airing of the show they lost all there contracts with the banks they had. There licenses according to the state of California have been expired. Also almost in every state you can not "Breach the peace" upon a repo. If you breach the peace and STILL take the vehicle it is considered a wrongful repo. While I have never been arrested and never plan on it, I have never had a repo gone bad like they do where I need to use self defense or assault someone. Every day of the week I have people tell me "This is not like the show in tv"
