  • Operation Repo

Anybody else hooked on this reality TV show? This has become my newest favorite program. New episodes air Monday night on Tru TV. I never thought I would find vehicle repossessions so interesting, but every episode is different. The series features real life family owned repo company called EGA Recovery. The owner of EGA Recovery, Luis, produces the show and hires the camera men to accompany his recovery crews all over the Los Angeles area on repossession orders. Interesting, funny, and often dangerous stuff. Out of respect for the family friendly nature of MOL, I won't post a direct link to Operation Repo, but you can google a search for it.

From luxury boats and planes to expensive sports cars and tricked-out trucks, if you can't make your payments, the Operation Repo team will find you! When it comes to recovering property from deadbeat owners, Lou, Sonia, Matt, Froy and Lyndah will stop at nothing to get the job done.

      Re: Operation Repo

I like watching this show too....but it is indeed fake....entertaining but fake.
At first I thought it was real too but the more I watched the more I started picking things out. One thing is that they never show any ID, which repo's have to do in many places. 2nd did anyone catch the episode where Matt flipped the BMW? No cop to be found, if this really happened I'm sure the cops would have been all over it!
In the beginning the disclaimer stated that they are recreations based on actual events, and that the names have been changed.
Either which way it's fun to watch and I really don't doubt some of the things they run into.
The world is a strange...strange place!

Speaking of fake wrestling, that reminds me of a funny Animaniacs cartoon clip.

I have seen the show. It was okay the couple times I caught pieces of it. Just not that riveting for me.

                    Re: Operation Repo

Operation Repo is a faux reality show on truTV.[1], where a fictional repossession team from the San Fernando Valley in California re-enact the repossession of vehicles for finance companies, due to the owners' failure to keep up their car payments.

Some of the actions shown violate the Collateral Recovery Act of the State of California and are only for dramatic purposes. Repossession agents are prohibited from breaching the peace (ie: fighting and wresting with debtors). However, some of the actors on the team were repossession agents in real life.[2]

Although as a channel, truTV is described as presenting "Reality TV", Operation Repo consists of scripted reenactments where the team is often confronted by actors portraying debtors with prop weapons, prop drugs, and naked women; and with actors portraying police officers with prop weapons and prop squad cars.
From wikipedia I cant link yet but you can find it.

This was my fav show also from 10-11pm on mondays but its fake and it looses all its pezazz , but I still watch it.

Repoing cars years ago I had to laugh while watching this show.State laws dictate a lot of what you can and cannot do. I guess they have to do what they do to make it entertaining but not too realistic in my book.
