    Re: Which Steam Cleaner?

I would not steam clean your mats.
I would use APC to clean them.
The Ranger I did a week ago, I used APC on the mats and it worked great, then I put Hyper Dressing on 3:1

      Re: Which Steam Cleaner?

I have an extractor (Mytee Lite) and the LGM and the big difference to me is the suction. The Mytee is much more powerful and really pulls out all of the chemicals out of the carpet. The LGM just takes a lot longer to use IMO. Honestly though, I feel like you'll get the best results by spending time really cleaning your carpet. If you just vacuum it then run the LGM over it, you won't be as happy as you would if you pre-clean it. Here's the link to a good video showing you how to properly clean and extract mats/carpet:

                Mytee Lite = Mytee expensive.

$500-$600, so not something you would buy just to do your own car. But if you're doing quite a few cars it makes cleaning carpets a lot faster. Looking back, I would probably get one that has the built in vacuum.

                    Okay topic creator,

Get the Little Green Machine From amazon.com It's less than a hundred bucks.

                    How to clean carpet/mats:

                    1. Spray Carpets with APC
                    2. Scrub them with a brush
                    3. Remove APC with the LGM
                    4. Repeat Step 3 until you have good results

I think the replies in this thread have convinced me to get the LGM. In fact, I was talking to my wife and she said "why don't you buy it for me for Valentine's day, since you'll be using it to clean my car"?

Yes, all hail 3Fitty who has his wife well trained! Not only am I getting the LGM, but it is going to BE MY WIFE'S GIFT!!!

3Fitty, your the man. But a word of warning. Don't be surprised when wifey says see that spot on the carpet, why don't you clean it with the LGM. Or the carpet on the stairs are a little dirty, why don't you clean them with the LGM, it will give you practice for cleaning the carpets in the car.

Sure...SHE's the one that's well-trained. She's just using the same ol' Jedi mind trick that my uses on me all the time.

Anyway 3Fitty, I bought the LGM from Wal-Mart about 5 months ago and love it. I put a little APC+ in there with hot water and I can clean anything. I've used it in the home a lot more than the cars; furniture, rugs, carpet, etc. It extracts quite a bit of disgusting muck. Just be sure to use it with tender loving care because it's 100% plastic and probably not desinged for heavy use.

                            Top floor = Hardwood

                            Middle floor = Ceramic tile

Basement = 90% Ceramic, 10% Carpet. (All I have to do is keep the kids off the carpet and I'm safe!!!)

I'm probably going to find out (on my next credit card statement) that I also bought her a diamond bracelet along with the LGM. What a swell dude I am!

Thanks for the tip of APC+ and hot water.

I've seen the LGM at Walmart and fiddled with it, so I get what you mean about it being plastic. I guess for my limited use, it'll be okay.

Mine has the heater on it. I don't know if that helps me or not but I guess it doesn't hurt.
