    Re: Winter Driving

And driving in snow, a 4X4 won't rescue you, only good alert driving will. My Yukon is 2WD and I get around just fine in our snow storms.

I once had a convoy behind me and I was lead car in about a foot of snow, my Yukon started to shimmy and I let off of the throttle and slowed her down, the truck behind me slammed on the brakes as he saw me shimmy and his headlights dissappeared and the convoy was at a halt. I had to keep going but made it to work no problems. The Yukon has limited slip and just drove smart.

I was at our dump one day in my old '64 Chevy truck, it was muddy as heck, one guy in a 4X4 got stuck, flinging mud everywhere and had to be pushed out by the loader. He then waited for me to do the same, I put it in Granny low and idled out of the muck (which was axle deep in mud) and got to the gravel and took off. I waved to the guy and he waved back. He wasn't touching my baby with that loader. The truck does not have a limited slip rear end either.

Drive smart and watch out for the other guy!

      Re: Winter Driving

I hope I dont need to see any of that ice junk on my snowboarding trip in a month or so. i've got a 2WD, and I drive pretty smart, so hopefully I'll be good. I also got stuck in mud onetime axle deep...tiny 2wd pickup, and my clutch/gas skills got me right out
