  • 2009 New Products...whats your opinion?

    Hey guys...

Now that we've all seen the products, what's your opinion on them. Even though most of us haven't used them, going with the already awesome Meguiar's products, where do you think they will fit in your supplies?

I am personally looking forward to Supreme Shine Protectant and Ultimate Quik Wax. Seems like both products will fit in very nice for washing and quick detailing.

I was underwhelmed. The product I was hoping for the Quick Wax is in the consumer line. Oh well, guess I'll be using X-Press wax.

Wait...Quik Wax is in the consumer line. Did you mean Quick Detailer (#66)?

I was hoping for a gallon size of Quik Interior Detailer!

Never fear! UQD was a consumer product but then because of overwhelming demand we got M135. Once it's out for a while and if enough people want gallons I'm sure Meguiar's will listen.

As for the line up! Looks like some really great products! From the testing I did with 3 of them I'm really looking forward to doing some details next summer. Way to go Meguiar's!

          I think this as well.

From what I'm looking forward to get the new Spray Wax and the Ultra Finishing Polish, they look like great products

So should the majority of these products be available at Wal-Mart, Autozone, etc?

It may well be that I'll be moving from the venerable #83/#80 pair to the new #105/#205 products. I should be finishing up my old polish in the couple of weeks so I'm anxiously awaiting the product availability.

For those who tested #205 as a lab sample... How did it compare to #80? I have pretty much mastered the 83/80 pair over the years and love the repeatable results I get but my enthusiasm for the new Meguiar's products is getting the best of me, (yet again LOL).

I see these #105/#205 as a faster acting and better finishing replacement for the #83/#80 products, right?

I hope so. I have enough of the mirror glaze line in the basement, so no need for me to buy more of that (for now)

Re: 2009 New Products...whats your opinion?

Overall I am happy about the products. Glad to see Natural Shine get an update and a big brother in Supreme Shine. Also, with the Hot Shine Applicator and the clay replacement (although I think $20 for three 50 gram bars is on the pricey side), I like how Meguiar's thought about storage and practicallity with products.

Also, with NXT 2.0 coming out last year I would imagine most of us consumer line users still have some, so I was glad that there wasn't a new best of the best wax and only improvements on those that I don't use.

Plus, SwirlX should be interesting to use.

Out of the bunch, I think that the Ultimate Compound is the most needed for the consumer. It's great to finally see a consumer product that can remove serious defects. Hopefully, it's marketed right and easy to find.

M205 sounds like a definate winner. The non-diminishing abrasives should make it a breeze to work on ceramic paints.

I was hoping there would be more detailer/professional line products. Also, some smaller pads would be nice. A gallon of quick interior detailer would be good too.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Some good.. Sounds like the Supreme Shine might be good, and the Compound.

I dunno about needing something between DC1 and ScratchX....

If you don't see something that you were looking for (i.e. different sizes) post your thoughts on the New Product Suggestions section of the forum. I've already started a thread requesting gallon sizes of Ultimate Quick Wax.

Im confused as all get out! Idk what to buy! I wish I wouldnt of bought extra products when I thought they would be cut so now I have all these extra products and cant buy new! I was expecting a few new products, not a bunch!

It seems Scratch-X is more aggressive than the current scratch-x so thats why they made swirlx(from what I can tell). Not sure just how aggressive the compound is yet so idk if Ill ever need it. I guess Ill replace #80 with scratch-x and #83 with the compound(If I need it) if I can buy them in stores. If not ADS will be getting an order come Christmas.

Current things I would like to try/buy just b/c:

-Supreme Shine since you dont need to let it haze. I never understood the use of the consumer quik wax since you had to let it haze then remove it. I could put down a coat of NXTv2 in the same amount of time.

-Scratch-x 2.0... Although I have one really old tube(5+ years old) and got a new tube in that gift set from 2007.. I dont use that stuff very much but may now if it replaces #80 for me.

                              -Endurance(running low)

-MAY get the new supreme shine. I have two bottles of Natural Shine since that was once my fav but now #40 is. I like the fact that it says its not greasy so I may have to try it. Im not much on a HIGH shine finish on my dash but #40 is kinda greasy.

Shew, Im all stressed out now.. What to buy!
