It seems Scratch-X is more aggressive than the current scratch-x so thats why they made swirlx(from what I can tell). Not sure just how aggressive the compound is yet so idk if Ill ever need it. I guess Ill replace #80 with scratch-x and #83 with the compound(If I need it) if I can buy them in stores. If not ADS will be getting an order come Christmas.

Current things I would like to try/buy just b/c:

-Ultimate Quik Wax since you dont need to let it haze. I never understood the use of the consumer quik wax since you had to let it haze then remove it. I could put down a coat of NXTv2 in the same amount of time.

-Scratch-x 2.0... Although I have one really old tube(5+ years old) and got a new tube in that gift set from 2007.. I dont use that stuff very much but may now if it replaces #80 for me.

      -Endurance(running low)

-MAY get the new supreme shine. I have two bottles of Natural Shine since that was once my fav but now #40 is. I like the fact that it says its not greasy so I may have to try it. Im not much on a HIGH shine finish on my dash but #40 is kinda greasy.

Shew, Im all stressed out now.. What to buy!
      Edit...

Re: 2009 New Products...whats your opinion?

I think Meguiars did a great job with their new products. The consumer line will definitely help out those that don't have access to rotary or DA buffers. The Ultimate compound really does get rid of heavy swirls and doesn't mar the paint. It did a great job by hand on the soft, thin, single stage black paint on my XR4Ti. See pictures 4, 5, and 6 in this post. http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...1&postcount=17

It's also a great product line for those people that may have access to a buffer, but can't locate the professional line easily. There are a lot of users of Meguiars products that don't know about these message boards or online stores.

You want something that will take out moderate swirls and oxidation while giving some protection all in one step, reach for the ColorX.

To take it a further and get better results, you'll need to do separate steps.

If you have heavy swirling/etching/oxidation go for the Ultimate Compound.

Some scratches you need to get rid of, reach for ScratchX 2.0.

Follow the above with SwirlX or if you just have mild swirls.

Then top with NXT 2.0, Ultimate Quik Wax, and Ultimate Detailer.

Meguiars always says to start with the least aggressive method and if it doesn't work, go to a more agressive step. This is why they have so many different products. Some products may not work well on your paint, which is why Meguiars offers many different types of products, even in the consumer line.

I think they have positioned themselves very well in the consumer market. I have a feeling a lot more people will be reaching for these new products over the competitors.

I personally can't wait to get my hands on the reformulated M105 and M205. I've got a Mercedes that needs some serious help and I have been waiting to pick up these new products before starting on it.

Re: 2009 New Products...whats your opinion?

Lots and lots of new products. I was blown away with how many!

I just ran out of #105 the other day and was hoping there was going to be a new version coming soon. The problem now, is waiting until January 2009 for #205 and #105 to be available.

My goal for 2009, is to simple down my products needed to carry for compounding/polishing. I hope the new#105/#205 (Maybe #95), are just the ticket. Phase out all my #8x's if I'm able to. Keep #151 around for a AIO(economic details).

The 2.0 pads are great on my G110. When using rotary, I do like the older Meg's pads better. Maybe the new backing plate will make the 2.0 pads and rotary a better combo for _Me_.

In the consumer line... WOW! Great new products indeed. I hope there is enough room in the automotive part stores, for ALL of them. Maybe 3M will pull all of their consumer line products off the shelves for Meguiar's stuff!

What I'm bummed about is, no rinseless type of washing system from Meguiar's. I would think this is a big issue to be addressed by all the detailing product companies. I guess Optimum Polymer Technologies , is going to "clean up" in this area.

Really excited about the Ultimate Quik Wax and clay bars. Right now I have more than enough #80/#83, and D151 to last me for awhile so the paint cleaners, while they pique my interest, probably wont get into my arsenal until the other stuff is used up.

Re: 2009 New Products...whats your opinion?

I think its great to see these new products in the consumer line. Seems to me they are going to be a little more competitive in a couple area that other companies already have products out in the consumer line, mainly the scratch remover/swirl remover and so on. IMO great line up!

Tire gel with the applicator is a great idea, years ago Endurance use to be packaged with one but I have not seen that for some time. Really it only makes sense!

I am still looking for that magic product that will make you car look better than new with one wipe no matter the condition of the paint is, so I am a little disappointed there.

The M205 is going to be a HUGE, HUGE game changer for those of us who detail professionally. It, coupled with M105 will take jobs that previously required 3-4 steps of defect removal and lots of guess work and cut it down to 2 simple steps.

Also, the consumer based products for defect removal will be very nice (SwirlX, ScratchX, and the new compound).

                  I'm VERY excited...

                      Key point.

Most people have access to the Internet but if they don't know about this forum as a resource then they're going to have to keep stumbling along trying to figure things out on their own.

On the forum homepage is a little blurb I wrote in the welcome message because it's true and because we have so many older people in car clubs that didn't grow up with the Internet and don't know that the way the Internet has evolved for like minded people to come together to share their hobbies/information/passion is with this software referred to as discussion forum software.

Welcome to the Meguiar's Online Discussion Forum!
As the Internet has evolved, discussion forums have become the primary way like-minded people come together to share their passion and their interests.

There's a link on www.meguiarsonline.com to this forum and we get a lot of traffic from from our forum members sharing this website with their friends and we appreciate that. Kind of goes along with our forum philosophy,

                      "Each one teach one"

Sharing this forum with your friends that are interested in doing their own detailing work helps them to help themselves.

Anytime I need information on one of my hobbies the first thing I do is use Goggle to search for an established forum on whatever the topic or hobby and I always find one.

Recently I joined a Datsun forum to help me get my old Datsun truck back on the road and I also belong to a Blazer forum to get help upgrading and modifying my classic 1975 Jimmy. I find people on these forums like our forum, that is people that are experts on a niche topic and willing to invest their time sharing what they know to help others.

In fact, I can't think of a faster way to get the information you need than to find a discussion forum dedicated to the topic you're researching and there's a discussion forum for just about anything you can think of.

In all I think the new products are going to be a big hit. [I] will be trying the #205, #105,and the swirl-x, and the new scratch-x. Can't wait for the first of the year. My product list is no where like last's years list. I may be able to actually sleep in the house this year.

I was getting pretty familiar with all the products. Now I gotta add more. Can there be a new list of all the new products and uses and everything at somepoint?

I agree. Maybe someone (like Ryan) could come up with a matrix that lists all of the products and catagorizes them somewhat as to whether they are cleaners, waxes, polishes, or combinations and also assign an aggresssivness number (like 1-10) to help us weekend warriors know what we are looking at. Sorry Ryan, but you did such a good job on some of the other things you put together, your name just popped into my head.

I see 4 new products that are going to be "must have" for me.

                              M105 Ultra Cut Compound
                              M205 Ultra Finishing Compound
                              2.0 Washable Foam Pads
                              and last but not least
                              Ultimate Quick Wax.

I think we need to band together and convince Meguiar's to offer some low introductory prices for their whole 2009 new product lineup.
