    Re: Midwest Get Together

Well, I found some vehicles that I think you guys will enjoy detailing.

The owner has to run it by his Lt., otherwise we will have this to detail...

Yes, it is an ISP car. It has some light etching on the hood, mild swirls on top, and some nice scratches on the trunk. In all, this should be a great example car.

The other car is a black '90 MR2 Turbo. This car has a ton of modifications, but retains the original paint. I believe it is single stage, but the car is in the shop.

    How's that sound?

Yeah, at the request of the owner, we cannot touch the interior...

I didn't see any visible blood stains, but the trunk has scratches from a box of flares.

I've detailed a number of Crown Vics and they really are great for learning. The paint isn't that hard, but the surfaces are flat. The trunk will need a bit of wetsanding, though.

The official sign up thread will be posted on April 9. I'd like to give it a bit more time for people to make their plans and arrangements.

I have nothing planned for that day.

Im just curious are we going to be covering everything? The proper wash etc etc?
          Or just paint polishing.

            Re: Midwest Get Together

We will be covering wet sanding (DA and by hand), rotary polishing, and DA polishing.

This event is geared more toward those who have experience using a DA polisher (G110, G100, etc). We will briefly touch on the basics (if I can find Mike's sheet from the Saturday class, I will print a copy for everyone) when we start working on the cars.

Mark your calendars! I will have the sign-up thread posted on Thursday, April 9th at 5 P.M. Central time. Also, the 'special guest' will be announced. I won't reveal his name, but this awarded individual is well known on here.

If anyone is flying or driving a great distance (more than four hours), let me know. My PM box has been cleared out.

I forgot to mention that we will have another special guest from Texas.

He does some custom detailing or something like that...

I think this is open to anyone that signs-up on the soon to be posted sign-up thread, thus that would mean anyone that was registered with this forum could attend.

This is shaping up to be a stellar event!

I'm going to try and make it out there for this. The plane ticket is only $264 round trip, just need to convince my parents.

                            I'll let you know.
