  • Midwest Get Together

    Hey everyone,

It's official! I will be hosting the detailing day on May 9th at my house. And, it is an honor to have it sponsored by Meguiar's!

This event is geared toward advanced detailing enthusiasts. Thanks to the excellent sponsorship from Meguiar's, we will have all of their new Professional Line compounds, polishes, and pads available to use. In addition, there will be G110's, rotaries, and Mirka abrasives.

We will start out the day by doing some testing on two black hoods. This will be an opportunity for you to try out some new technology. Lunch will be pulled pork, ribs, and chicken from Bar-B-Q Shack. After lunch, I hope to have at least two black cars for us to work on.

I'm located in Evansville, IN. It's about two hours from Louisville, KY and four hours from Indy. The Evansville airport (EVV) is less than ten minutes from the house. If needed, I would be more than happy to book a hotel (Drury Inn, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden).

    To recap...

    When? May 9th
Where? Chris' house (directions will be provided)
    What time? 9 A.M. - 6 P.M.
What is the cost? I will ask you to help cover the lunch.

*This event is limited to 20 people* Also, we may have a very special guest at the event!

I will have a sign-up thread a month before the event. I will ask that some bring drinks and other items.

If you have a special polisher that you would be willing to bring, please send me a PM. Or, if you own a black car with swirls, PM me and we can use it!

I look forward to hosting the event!

    Sounds like a good time!

Not sure if I could make it or not but I would like to. Little over 1,000 mile round trip for me. I'll start to give it some thought.

Edit: What's the weather like there that time of year?

I would do it if my parents let me. It sounds like a great time and a great learning experience along with a great time to talk together.

Sounds like a good deal. If I am back at work by then & can afford it I would definetly be interested.

While I won't be able to make it, I would just like to remind everyone to post on the Class request list and try to get Meguiar's to the midwest. I know there are a few different threads there.

I'm hoping with the 3M deal that they might come to the Twin Cities Metro, but we'll see.

Hope you guys have fun if it happens.

Its possible I would go. Im only ~3 hours from you so that wouldnt be a problem.

Either one of the dates seems to be ok for me so far..

The 28th might be bad for me. But March 7th would be fine.

                              No problem! Happy to help!

Hope there isn't a blizzard then. I hate driving that far when you have to drive slow. It takes forever.
