    Re: Dodo Juice Supernatural

I buy all my "hype" wax second hand lol. I have some P21s 100%, Souveran, Pinnacle Signature Series II. So far only used the SSII and I like it, it so easy to apply and remove, looks great and beads nicely. I could never pay full price though for any of those waxes.

I believe it was Supernatural that a lot of people are applying by hand?

I'm guessing V2. It's the 250ml in the funky wodden can.

          Orca,

I think all of your tips are valid and well taken but probably stuff Rasky already knows (but is to modest to say for himself), so consider I'm the forum loud mouth, I figured I'd chirp up! LOL

Seriously though... Rasky is a real pro and does some sensational work (see some of his work in the show off your work section).... that is why I'm looking forward to his findings.

As to Pinnacle Souveran, I know many swear by it and I've only ever seen it on a car once, which I thought looked really good but not beyond anything I've ever seen.
LMAO! Yeah, my girl gave me the "you just spent how much on wax" look!

So I got the 1st coat on my car tonight, and I must say I'm kind of liking it so far, but not $200 liking it. I'm going to try and get a 2nd coat on tomorrow night if I can.

FWIW, the directions on the inside of the container say to let it sit for 5-10 minutes before wiping it off. (I missed that the other night ) So It is possible I let it sit too long because it came off great tonight.

I think that may be some of their softer waxes but I could be wrong...I would never put it on by hand anyway.

Actually, they were sold out of the sample size and the 200ml plastic container size....I'm just to impatient to wait.

So that's the story you told the girlfriend?

Just teasing ya! I'm the same way. When I want it, I want it now!

How fast should this be done?

As in, wipe the product onto a section of the paint and then wipe it right off?

                      Like a quick detailer?

... not quite that fast ... apply to a panel ... stand back, ensure the next panel is free from dust, wander around the car, watch the traffic, pick your nose, whatever ... a few minutes later, wipe off. Nice and leisurely.

It does say 5-10, so that's the ballpark, but it's on and cured in a couple of minutes, or so. Swipe test and wipe off. It should wipe off with ease, and not require much pressure or hard buffing; certainly not some QD to help removal.

                          Re: Dodo Juice Supernatural

I used SN for the first time over the weekend. In doing some research, I found out that in humid / warm climates, after doing the initial removal of the wax, a second wipe down is desireable about an hour later.

Thanks for the clarification because usually when someone posts that a product is a WOWO product that means you wipe it on and wipe it off, no time delay.

By your follow-up, it no longer sounds like a true "WOWO".

Again, thanks for clarifying for everyone that will read this thread into the future...

Interesting ... the climate in Britain this summer is really sticky and humid; practically monsoon. Anyway, the other day after applying some M26 late one evening, I looked out a short while later and the panel had gone from black to grey! OMG! Quick ... rushed out and found that it was in fact really fine bead condensation. This had happened the day before on another panel, too with a "joke" product I had bought from eBay (some "Rude Wax" ... it's gone out of production and I was curious), so it wasn't as unexpected as that occasion, but still made me jump a little.

The best scientific explanation I heard was that it was likely the heat induced through buffing that had cooled in the lowering night temperatures and hit a dew point causing condensation. It wiped off fine, but I did notice cloth smears set in the paint as I was buffing that were not evident when I'd finished earlier or on the similarly affected panel the day before.

As I said, we don't really get humid weather where I live - wet and windy, yes, humid, rare. This summer we're having loads of it and I'm having a devil of a job with a good number of my products from M16 paste, M26 liquid to M21 2.0 and liquid NXT Tech Wax Original, from smearing to simply not setting. I have heard from Valetters over here that this kind of presentation is rare, but not unheard of with some waxes.

I have not experienced humidity problems before, so I wonder if a lot of the problems I have read about are simply down to these annoying environmental conditions - a good number of my other products have not suffered, but certainly things from the Poorboys line of LSPs and from Armor All.

I know this has kind of gone off-topic, but what exactly are you buffing an hour, or so later? Is it just a case of the product has changed a little having sat in a buffed state for a while and presented an opportunity for a further buff, or are you seeing something as obvious as what I described above?

I understand ... no, I mean leisurely, unhurried and "kind of as soon as you feel like it" which is usually pretty soon after application LOL and should remove as a "wipe off", not a "scrub off".

WOWAWWO, then ... wipe on ... wait a while ...wipe off

As a reasonable comparison, it probably sets as quickly as M16 paste wax, if not quicker. I don't like to let M16 paste dwell too long and have usually started buffing off before five minutes is up ... like apply to one panel, apply to the next and return to buff the first one routine.
