Well, MOL member bookeem doesn't even know this but I almost got him a client last night (he lives pretty close to me and this is pretty interesting story).
So, last night I get home from work at about 7 (which is about the earliest I've been home in about 2 weeks) and I decide to "un-wind" by looking at products at autozone and pepboys (yes, I know it is weird that just looking is mildly therapeutic).
In any event... I finish at autozone and I drive up Rt. 20 North and stop in at Pepboys. As I'm approaching the car product area I notice this ENORMOUS guy with about 11 different products in his hand. He has NO idea what he's doing and he's asking a 16 year old looking Pepboys employee (that looks like he just wants to go home) what he needs to do to fix his suv (white Yukon - I think - older model).
SUV had an area repainted that was very rough. Not a bad paint job, just not very smooth (I'm guessing over spray).
So the kid is just basically looking at thing on the shelf and putting them in this guys hands along with a "toy" six inch orbital as a way of fixing his issues. In comes "the all knowledgeable" 3Fitty.
After talking with el enormo (must've been 6'7" and 300lbs), we decided to go outside and look at his truck. Thankful that he did not eat me, I proceeded to give him advice. He seemed confounded by what I was telling him.
Finally I said to him... "I know this guy in Passaic NJ who is a great detailer and he'll make your car look like new" (I was thinking bookeem - because I don't ever want to do this for money - because then it becomes a job and I want a hobby). In any event, I thought I had clinched the deal for bookeem, but he said, "well I was thinking about it, but some guy wanted $110".
I was like... "THAT'S IT"???? For that monster and all the work it would need!!! This thing was in REALLY bad shape. Although I had NO idea what bookeem might charge, I can't imagine ANYONE doing a REAL correction on this truck for $110 (it needed a lot of help).
In any event... here's what he ended up getting and the advice I gave him...
NXT wash.
Meg's Clay Kit x 2 (just in case)
DC paint cleaner (no colorX at the store).
ScratchX (to use on areas that might be a bit more problematic).
#7
NXT 2.0
New cotton terry applicator pads
Some MF's
Wash mitt
Chamois
Hey Meg's, do I get commission? LOL Sorry I couldn't close the deal for you bookeem!
