Re: Flying to see my daughter

I used to love flying, but now because of security at the airports I hate it. It is not really the flying that I hate it is getting through security and getting on the plane.
You repair things with tools. You fix things with a hammer.

I used to hate flying.I had to take a Doctor prescribed volume.LOL.
But truly if you sit back and enjoy the ride you will absolutely fall in love with flying.Trust me it's the fear of the unknown my friend.Don't let that fear rob you of the time with your daughter.

Re: Flying to see my daughter

I flew for the first time last June. Taking off is exciting, you can feel the power of those engines !

Other than that, nothing special, except I was on an Airbus 310, barely any space to move and the movie was sooooooo dull.

I work for an airline, couple of tips for you...

#1 most important, sit in the front. The aircraft bounces less in the front. If you're in the rear, you feel every little bump in the road.

#2 have 1 or 2 adult beverages. No more! Drinking more than that will make things worse.

#3 do something to take your mind off things.....read a book, DVD player and watch a movie.

          Hope this helps.

You will be fine. The chewing gum works well. It really is very safe and fun. Never had a problem flying. Enjoy it.

#2 is very true!! Ive flown after 2 adult beverages and after about 8. Flying after 2 was much easier. After 8 I couldnt keep my head up Since your flying south, Id suggest a little Comfort
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Ive flown once when I was around 12-13 years old(or 8-9 years ago). At the time I really enjoyed it and I would say flying is safer now than it was a few years ago. The amount of checking and security they have is insane.. :

Make sure you know what you can and cant carry with you on board. They will make you throw it all away or recheck in a different bag it if they find something you shouldnt have. They may also put the gloves on....

Oh yeah.....one other thing. Un-tie your shoes while waiting in line at the security checkpoint. You will have to take them off. No gel inserts in your shoes either. So make sure your not "gellin' like a felon" Better yet, wear slip on shoes.
