Awsome photo's guys, a shame that i haven't got some nature-shots to show you.
Most of the photo's here on the HD are from car-events.

I like to take pictures but I'm not a pro and I know next to nothing. These were taken with various point and shoots that I paid less than $300 for.

This is an iguana I found at the Miami Seaquarium:

          Here is another iguana:

And a third one I caught in mid scratch:

And finally a picture of a storm rolling in over the sea. This was taken from my balcony:

Tim, your pictures look great! You can really see an improvement from the ones you posted at the beginning of this thread! Not those were bad at all! I really like the first two!

Thanks John! It is great hobby, but like most things, it takes a long time to learn to do it right. I still have a ways to go...

Hi Tim.I think your pics are really well thought out.It is a difficult subject. There are so many variables. I don't know about today, but I used to buy Hoya filters for my lenses. My favourite lens was the telefoto. The way you could play around with depth of field was really powerfull. That and the standard lens were the only 2 original that I had.The rest were Mirandas(money). But quality definitely pays when it comes to lenses.

Even with todays cameras,it's still down to the person to take good pics.

                    Hi Eddie,

Thanks! The hard part for me is trying to get the photo to match what I envisioned before taking it.

I use B+W MRC filters in both UV and Circular Polarizers as well as Neutral Density filters also from B+W.

The trouble with photography is that there is a significant difference in the lenses and this is usually where more expensive are better.

^ yeah I have always heard the difference that a lens can make, and the best ones are they expensive ones lol. Also, I get what you mean about transfering what you see onto the screen. I only use a point and shoot right now though but I feel the same concept is used when playing the sax and playing improv. I know what I want to play and what sounds good but its hard to transfer that to your fingers.

I really like your pics though! Hopefully I can get a camera soon and we can bring this thread back to life
