We like running avast.

I bailed on Norton about two months ago and have been giving Avast! (free) a go after hearing great things about it. I've been more than pleased and will be getting it on a dozen or so machines I oversee in the next year.

Of course if anyone has anything validly horrible to say about it, I'd love to hear about it now ...

Currently, my employer is using Norton Corp edition and I am seriously considering dropping the product. Every version they have released have some sort of high resource usage that bogs down the server. In the forum I find dozens of pages on complaints with this problem. The tech support is useless since it has been outsourced outside of the USA. The support just reads off a script!
I am looking at Kaperesky business edition. It is also less expensive.

I used Symantec Corporate Edition for a long time. I switched to Avast about 6 months ago and so far I am impressed.

I have a mac and have never had a virus or used software to protect it, a lot of my friends have switched to macs for that reason.

The main reason I use one is I am not the only person who uses my computer so... As a matter of fact, last night, I saw the AV pop up while my G/F was looking around online!

I recommend AVG, one of the best. The new 8.0 version came out and its been working great for me.

AVG (Free) for four years going... Ever since AVG found a virus that Norton did not I was sold. Zero conflicts.. and if the local government thinks it's good enough for the abuse school computers get it's fine for me.
McAfee crashed on me and I never re-installed.

On my WIN Vista laptop I'll put on AVG when McAfee expires. Open source works on Win boxes just fine.

AVG Free just updated to 8.0 Zero problems

We use CA Anti-Virus because my dad gets it for free from work. It seems to work very well and it doesn't hog up the computer at all. We put some $10 AV from Best Buy on a computer we put in the garage and it is HORRIBLE (TrendMicro AV). It used to take a couple of minutes for programs to load and such but I took it off because I only use it as my music source for when I'm working on cars so I don't have to worry about viruses really.

We were a little skeptical at first. But with our friends thoughts on Avast. We decided to give it a try. Its been at least 2 years with it and no problems at all. Knock on wood.

Norton uses way too much memory. Kaspersky works well for me.

Wow, a lot of AVG users. I may give it another go. Avast is also on the list.
