Re: Ice, ice, and MORE ice

Hate to tell you boys. So Cal is been partly cloudy some drizzle tonight. Been around the 60s in the day and 40s at early am. All that ice just makes me think of the frosty cold new castle I just poured. Drive safe

Around 11, I heard a crash and looked outside...we lost half a tree.

I wonder what this weekend's project is going to be.

Anyways, the Expedition and Sable (mine) have Continentals. They're factory and the car just turned 35k miles. The wet traction is horrible and it takes forever for them to hook-up on ice. I'll start a tire thread soon.
On my mother's old Lemon Expedition, the original set of Continentals burned up in about 3,000 miles. The second set lasted almost the last 6,000 miles or so she had it. The Continentals on her new one are almost gone and they have about 6,000 miles on them. They are by far IMO some of the worst tires ever, and I cannot believe Ford is still putting them on!

I know a few really nice tires. I will be directing the purchase when the time comes.

Sheesh! On our Mercedes Benz GL450 we burn up a set of Contis every 7-12 months!

The tires were designed for comfort, not heavy SUV use, so the tread is soft.

Small World, I used to work at Jack of Hearts Carpet years ago.

Weather wise it looks like we're lucky here compared to some. The ol' lake effect machine has stayed north of us for the most part this year. But, as you know with lake effect, It ain't over 'til it's over!
