Practicality plays a big factor here as well. Having 2 other siblings along with my self make having a light colored car much easier. But then again, my parents buy the cars so they have the final say in what color we get.

Id say if i like the car then i would buy it. My Renault Clio Has great soft paint that #80 will remove just about any defect bar deep scratches. But it has black plastic everywhere (door handles, side rubbing strips, mudflaps, washer jets, rear spoiler (is smooth so not to bad) bumper pieces), sunroof edges. so Taping of is a chore.

      Now what to have next.

Mini - i would have the whole bottom part all the way around the car to do, and paint is likely to be harder.

I Also Like the Audi A3 / Vw Golf. Colour Coded but paint is likely to be hard as nails. So would need to get a rotary and spare wing or car heading for the scrap yard. and plenty of practice.

I think if you like the car for its looks and it satisfies whatever you want in a car (whether it be practicality, engine, colour, fuel type, looks, etc). Its important to remember buying a car is a big decision and the second largest purchase you will ever make. So i always take time to decide that i am sure this is what i want. Its never decision to be taken lightly.

As a rule when i have bought my cars, all used as I'm quite young (21) and have only had data of fuel figures, and car books to go of to choose engine and specification. It has meant i have chosen very much on looks. And the Clio is a very popular car over here in the UK, its not the most practical, fastest, best driving, or well built but Europe tends to be conscious of the cars looks, how cool is it, is this important in America?, Renault still build the old shape like mine despite a new model being introduced as there is that much demand for them.

Another Example of this is the Audi TT huge style factor but for a coupe is no sports car despite what its looks might say. My worry worry would be buying something i may look at and very soon think i dont like it an maybe not take that much care of it as i should do.

My next daily driver will be silver or gray.

And though I love my Charger Daytona (2006) the hassle with the vinyl decals and just the enormous size of the vehicle will probably make detailing a partial issue when I buy the next "baby".
