I have found myself looking at the reflection in the driver side mirror while driving away after a fresh detail.
I waxed a friends motorcycle spokes awhile ago, he was tilting the biketo the side while riding down the street to watch the glint coming off his spinning wheels.
Why not take pride in your work when it consistently turns heads!
I just don't know what to reply to people that tell me ..You are again detailing your car ..... i was thinking of that reply .......Would you like to help me.
One thing i like after a well done job is to sit near the car with a cup of coffee but even after that i will go for a final wipe.
As with wood working, metal works, or detailing the best part of the whole project is the period I call the ooo and aaahh period. My son and I always take the time to make ourselves feel better by over looking the whole thing. Touching the paint and making sounds like oooo and aaahh. I know that I have made my son smile when I do this. I also know that my son feels the same way because when we fail to do it, because we may be in a hurry, he is for ever reminding me that there is one thing left to do. So we do it together.
I live in the back-woods of Kentucky so I can stand outside all day and stare. I usually find myself standing by the front door just staring.. Haha, Ive never told anyone about this.
I also find myself laying on the ground and looking at the underbody. Im amazed how clean it stays clean even if I drive in the rain. I love going offroading but Ive laid off it here lately as I dont want to get mud all over it again. It took me a few hours to detail the engine and the underbody.. Its pretty much spotless.
I always go to the garage and stand there for 15 minutes just admiring the cars. Sometimes it's opened and people walk by and I wonder if they think i'm weird so I go back inside.
LOL! I can totally picuture you doing that... even though I don't even know you.

I look it over in the shop , the sunlight, then move on to the next unit. Total time 10 mins. including inspecting the glazing from the inside for optical clarity.
Guilty here also. I just get a charge out of the car all detailed and reflective. It also is nice to get the compliments from others also. Its a sickness I think we all share. lol
I always end up with a huge dilemma after detailing my cars; I really, really want to take 'em for a drive and let the world revel in their beauty (well, you know what I mean) but at the same time I know doing so will make the car.....gasp!....DIRTY!!!
Ha! Same here, at least a half a dozen times at different intervals and admiring all angles; I at least hope no one notices what I'm doing staring at my finish but they should take notes
I never try to admire it for more than 15 minutes and show it off because i always seem to find something else that is wrong with it. There always seems to be that one spot on the tire that is a different color from the rest of it. I often take pictures and set them as the background of my computer.
