What a piece of junk this car must be. They would be better off in my opinion offering a better golf cart in the USA for $2,500. Until now, I thought my neighbor's Ford Tempo (1993) was the biggest piece of junk on the road. The tempo came before the Taurus, which was before the Focus... None of which would be any fun to drive; though, the focus would be an okay grocery getter.
I would really be hating life driving one of those.
Guys, keep in mind the Tata Nano is NOT going to be sold in the US. It was never intended for this market, and it would fail miserably even if met all US emissions and crash standards. Which is does NOT.
As has been stated previously, the Nano is intended for those folks in developing countries - primarily India - who would otherwise be riding old motorcycles and scooters. Those things are beyond dangerous over there!
Now, if you really feel the urge to purchase a vehicle manufactured under ownership of Tata Motors of India, then a Jaguar or Range Rover would be the choice. Yep, the folks who build the Nano for India are the same people who purchased Jaguar/Range Rover from Ford last year.
Now I just wonder how long it will be before someone in India buys a Nano and then slaps a Jaguar "leaper" hood ornament on it!

I can see someone slapping a turbo on that car. Haha
I also remember reading that wal-mart wants to sell low prices cars like these as well...
Better yet, cutting a square in the hood to install a blower and slapping on a second exhaust. Finish it off with steel braided hoses and chromed manifold covers! The Nano Muscle car era is upon us...
