One year we did not hand out candy and someone stole a nice statue we had . Every since we hand candy out and no problems yet.

I love halloween. Best teenager-holiday ever. Last year I sat infront of my house looking for kids my age trying to cause trouble... Paint ball gun in the dark is a scary thing when you dont know where its comming from. Even better is wondering how they are going to explain to their parents how they ended up with paint ball stains and bruises while trying to vandalize someone elses house.

Holloween is awesome, costumes, candy, parties,= fun. But hey you should sit outside in a costume and have candy out so you can watch you car and part take in the tradition. And if you see some kids vandalizing a car or a house, make sure noone's looking and shoot them....with a paintball gun.


edit: oh dang it I just read the first few posts of this thread and someone already took the paintball gun idea.

fine then if you're a good shot egg the kids doing it and take their candy away. (say they can have it back if their parents come get it)

But leave it to the many who take this fun and turn it into something very bad. I don't think it should be banned by no means. Luckily I live down a dead end street and 90% of my neighbors are retired folks, so not many kids come down the street.

One time I hid in the thick cover of leaves in camo gear with a dark green water hose. Anybody that tried to do anything to my cars or house were going to end up soaked and sorry. I wondered if any of them messed themselves after they got the scare of their life when I jumped from the leaves bed.

I leave the blinds up on the window next to the driveway where our dogs can see out. Our 4 large dogs barking their heads off are quite an effective deterrent to people approaching my truck.

I park in the garage. And Halloween was my favorite holiday when I was young. no way it should be banned

Speaking of Halloween fun, if you have never visited the extremepumpkins.com website, I recommend it. The kerosene and toilet paper light for a pumpkin does actually work well and looks cool.. Hopefully I will remember to do it again next year.

I don't think trick or treating should be banned just teenagers being able to go out and destroying stuff. I mean stores shouldn't allow them to go in and buy hundreds and hundreds of eggs, toilet paper, bologna and stuff like that.

Maybe their parents should do a better job of knowing what their kids are doing.

It's tough for us that don't have a garage.

No damage here! I'm certainly glad about that. I went around the house and the vehicles in the driveway this morning to make sure, and there weren't eggs or anything. There were a lot of cops out last night patrolling the neighborhood, so even if someone had wanted to egg or something like that, they wouldn't have had much of a chance.

Ramphonic, it's not quite that simple. Often I go to Sam's Club for my Dad and I usually buy around 100 eggs. Not all teenagers have bad intentions when they buy eggs, TP, etc. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just pointing that out.

I agree about parents should try to know what their kids are doing more.

The only bad thing about Halloween for me is that my kids are too old to trick-or-treat, so no bags of candy for me to raid!

no eggs this year =) there were a lot of police around i heard from my friends..... they told everyone to go home after about 930 or 10....

I can tell you that 99.99% of all parents don't know what their kids are really doing! Trust me, if you think you know that just means you know nothing!
