    Thanks everyone for their input!
If you're on a budget have a look at edgeracing dot com and check out something like the Flik Fuel wheels. I have these on my Miata (they come in different finishes) are very light weight and very reasonably priced.

We have a lot of people go through our detailing classes every year now and a common question/problem is cleaning wheels.

So once you get past picking out some wheels that look cool, (to you at least ), the factor that will determine your ultimate happiness over the long run is how easy the wheels are to clean.

If you pick a wheel that is hard to clean and maintain, whether that be polishing or waxing, or just washing the brake dust and road grim off, you will come to dread washing your car because you will dread cleaning the wheels.

We see this issue in car owners every weekend.

Painted wheels get debri bonded to the paint, this could be brake dust, rotor dust, etc. that lands on the paint and then bonds or melts into the paint, then the question is...

"How do I remove these bonded contaminants out of the paint on my car's wheels?"

        The answer...

"With a lot of patience, time and hard work. Then it's going to happen again"

Uncoated polished aluminum wheels oxidize and then you have to clean and polish them again, this is required for the life if the car/wheel

Complicated designs with lots of intricate grooves, rivets, bolts, spokes, etc. are hard to clean.

        What's easy?

Chrome wheels. If you keep them clean, the chrome finish will last a long time and if you pick a design that is smooth and flat with not intricate designs or components, cleaning and polishing the wheel will be easy and fast.

Example: The wheels on our Pilot. They are chrome and have a flat design. Very easy to clean and periodically polish with our NXT All Metal Polysh.
