  • I need some advice on a set of wheels for my car...

A good deal just popped up on a set of wheels that I like. They're a month old, in perfect condition, and they're local. I just don't know if I like gold. Here is a picture of the wheels on the guy's car, and I have the EXACT same color tC. What do you guys think? Go for it or pass?

The wheels are Luff S5R and they're 18x7.5. I can save over $200 by picking these up.

Reminds me of the gold BBS's ( I think that is it) on the STi's.

I would like to see a pic without the whitewalls to be sure, but I think it is good. Are you thinking whitewalls as well?

I think those wheels would look best on a very clean no, bulbous bodywork.

Thats actually a polished lip on the wheel, but its a really bright picture so it makes it look almost white.

I don't have any sort of body kit and I'm not interested in putting one on either. My car has a slight 1.25" drop and I think a nice set of wheels will make it look clean. I just still can't decide if I like the gold or if I want to stick with a bright silver (I don't want black, gunmetal, dark grey, or chrome).

        My taste says "pass"
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

Just curious... is it the color, wheel style or both?

So is that lip gold then, or is it silver?

How easy are they to clean?

How easy are they to maintain?

Personally, I'm not a big fan of gold wheels. (Yeah, I know, in that shot of me with my Manta it had gold "basket" wheels. My brother put those on when we sold the car.)

Anyway, even though I wouldn't choose gold I have to say they look pretty good with your blue.

Me, I'd pass. Of course you know how "old school" I am. I'd probably put Minilites on it.

I don't like the open design, unless you have a killer set of brakes. Factory brakes are not worth showing off.

I believe those wheels are more of a bronze than gold color really. I have bronze wheels with a polished lip on my Emerald Mica '99 Miata and love 'em (totally different design than these though)....and I think the bronze works really well on the shade of blue shown on this tC. I say go for it and enjoy the heck out of 'em!!!

I like the style but I'm just not "sold on the gold".

                        hey kyle,
the wheel design looks nice, but i would pass on those as i'm not fond of that color. go pick up the new performance auto & sound magazine (2006 annual buyer's guide edition), it has a wheel & tire guide with over 200 new designs!

The color mostly. I like the style.

Decided not to get them. I'm going to look into some bright silver wheels. I'm going to start pricing Works, Volks, and Gram Lights.

                              Thanks everyone for their input!
