Lots of videos on Streetfire about this spectacle. I'd like to see one in person, but I doubt I ever will.

Impressive car to say the least.

Bugatti had one on display at the LA Autoshow back in January, same color as the one in this post. Great looking car in person.

A couple of points missing from the specs listed in the original post:

In order to put the car in "top speed" mode you have to come to a complete stop and insert a key into a fitting on the drivers side door sill. This lowers the car, positions the rear wing to a low and out setting and drops and extends the front air dam. In the event you should turn the steering wheel more than 90 degrees in either direction before making your top speed run, the system will reset itself and you have to arm it all over again. Meaning you'd better be aimed down a long straight stretch of tarmac before you attempt this.

And when running near max speed the car will burn through a full tank of gas in about 12 minutes!!!!

There is no cover whatsoever over the engine as so much heat is produced that any covering at all would be detrimental at best and completely destructive at worst.

And the most important spec not mentioned: I want one.

You wanna see a big car?

I'd take this over the Bugatti, just cuz its a Cadillac.

The Bugatti has only one more HP than the Cadillac Sixteen. The Sixteen has a V-16 engine producing 1000HP stock. Only 1000 will be made.

The Veyron is beautifull in its own strange weird way.

            I love it.

Have seen videos of this car - impressive in a straight line, mega quick in fact, but looked like nothing more than an expensive truck round corners... IIRC they wouldn't let the Top Gear (UK car program, hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May) take one around their track incase it wasn't faster than the other cars they had tested (Porsche GT, Maclaren Merc SLR and the like)...

While these are very impressive specs, I view these cars as hyper-cars - beyond the wildest dreams of most people, and could you really let the car rip round a track... Personally I'd rather have a little Lotus Elise or Vauxhall VX-220 for belting round a track, lightweight, lively, responsive and bags of fun.

ive seen the car, not at an auto show or anything, but at the weekly carshow in orange county.

pretty unreal, its alot lower than it looks in the pictures. they even let it sit out in light drizzle. didnt stick around to hear it start up, as the saturday detail day was about to start, and i didnt want to miss that.

I know what you mean. Sometimes you just see a vehicle and it's "lines" just make you think........"WOW" To me, it's the most beautiful "Exotic" I have seen in years!

And with all-wheel drive, bet it does great in the snow!!!!!

Are you sure that's the fastest production car? I heard that the Enzo was. And the Ford GT is 2nd in line....

I think something like the Koinseeg (sp? enthuiasts help...?) CRR was the fastest at like 860ish until the Veyron. The Enzo and GT are nothing to laugh at, but dont have near the horse power of the Veyron, someone correct me but I think the GT only has about 500ish HP.

As for sports cars... I wouldnt want one... I want a Jeep SRT-8, 0-60 in less than 5 seconds wet or dry, and after all... its a jeep!

from what I heard it first was the Mclaren at like 245mph, then the Koeignsieg, and the Veron, But theres a new Koeing but Im not sure if its faster. These cars are the SS of the supercars so the Enzo, GT, adn Carrera Gt dont come into class with these in my view.

The Veryon is the fastest, I have a Wheels (Motor? its at work) magazine that has the specs. The MclarenF1 supercar held the title for about a decade before the Koenigsegg beat it, and now the Veryon.

Personally, I'd get the Mclaren. For a car that sold for ~1.5MUS it was an absolute killer. And it has an engine bay lined with gold
