OILERS v.s Carolina

I think the whole notion of Canadians getting behind the Oilers because they are a Canadian team is just perfect.

most Calgarians see Alberta going around Edmonton...even though they are the capital.

I see a few of those Oiler flags and jersys from time to time but i think a lot of people just want Carolina to win.

Secondly, Hockey's a Canadian sport, the Cup is Canadian, and if you're Canadian, why not root for the cup to come back home?

very true the cup is Canadian, it was donated by one of our first governer generals and it hasn't been in Canada for a long time, but i just can't bring myself to cheer for them

As you can see in my above post, I am not much of a hockey fan, but congratulations to the 'Canes for winning the first professional championship in NC history!

It was one hell of a NHL season this year....best in many years....let the Canes celebrate as they should...they were the better team last night....

But then, it's on to the draft this weekend and before you know it, it will be September and the cup will be back up for grabs...keep your eye on Buffalo....

I know, it's funny....but the bulk of the article talks about the team in general....had Carolina had the injuries we did DURING the playoffs, they'd never, never had gotten as far as they did...we were ONE game away from knocking them out...and they know how lucky they were to get by us...I actually don't like the Canes, but, they won so....great....have a nice party....but like the article said, and it's oh so true, IF we win, the party will make front page news...this is a hockey town through and through...the only thing worse than losing to the Canes would have been losing to the........Ducks !?!?!.....
