  • OILERS v.s Carolina

Boy is Carolina getting so lucky.

First Koivu gets hurts, then the Sabres lose 4 defenceman and now the Oilers lose Rolie and are down 2-0.

How lucky can one team get?

This is all BS because they're Oilers are a much better team than the Canes.

We'll see what happens in Edmonton where the fans actually CARE and are loud the whole game. The canes fan sound dead and only cheer once and a while.

    GO OILERS GO!!!

There are No excuses....it is what it is....If Brind A Mour wasn't so damn ugly I'd almost be ok with it...Sabres would have beaten Edmonton and should have beaten Carolina...Carolina a hockey town ???....uh, no....don't even sell out FINALS games ?...c'mon....

Dallas Stars and the Detroit Red Wings were huge letdowns this year. I had Dallas in the finals, but nope, out in the first round to the Avalanche.

Right now I'm more focused on the Dallas Mavs who are playing the Heat in game 1 of the NBA finals!

lol i don't know if i like Edmonton... Calgary has never like Edmonton and Edmonton has never really liked Calgary. Most people up here are rutting for the Canes. Edmonton fans are absolutly insane, when we had the red mile there was a lot of public drunkeness, but nothing like whats up north ( no people getting stabbed, cars being burned, random people haning from the electric lines).

In Calgary we can't really cheer for the oilers because then they would have bragging rights forever.

you can't even compare hockey in Carolina to hockey in Edmonton.

people in Carolina don't even understand. so i'm not mad at the US team beating a Canadian team

I was happy for Tampa Bay to win it last year so there goes your point.

Carolina people just don't understand hockey. **** they stand for the game. its not football people.

and their crowds ****. no noise level at all.

and i'm not making excuses, this is what has happend. any true fan will see and can tell you how lucky they've been.

The whole hockey world (those of us who are real fans of the sport) is suprised the Canes are in the finals...but it is what the NHL wants...parody....the Sabres are a better team than the Canes and they know they were lucky to beat us in 7 games...one wrong bounce of the puck and they're teeing it up for the rest of the season...has nothing to do with Canada/US teams....Let's see if the Canes even still exist in 10 years....Hartford Whalers ?....hmmmm, where are they ??.....

                GO EDMONTON !!!

I saw Edmonton won last night. Not that big into hockey, but what were the fans chanting for most of the night?

"LET'S GO OILERS!" "LET'S GO OILERS" I believe is the chant they use....and they won again last night in Raleigh, in a thriller of an overtime game....GREAT HOCKEY !!!!......

Now, they go home to Edmonton for game 6, win there and then back to Carolina (where they won't sell out game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals ) and win the cup !!!!.....GOD I LOVE THIS GAME !!!!!

That's ok sneek...I'm only rooting for the Oilers because I hate the Canes...(of course I'm a Sabres fan and think they should be in the Finals against Edmonton) ...the Oilers played a great game last night and Carolina made the fatal mistake of turing the puck over in their own zone which resulted in the winning goal...Can Edmonton pull it off ??...It'll be fun to watch won't it ?....

Big difference when it comes to Hockey towns in Canada and Hockey towns in the US. And also a big difference when it comes to watching Hockey in Canada and Hockey in the US. Hockey works in Canada, regardless of what level it's at CHL, AHL, NHL, etc., quite similar to how College Football is so big in the US.

I think the whole notion of Canadians getting behind the Oilers because they are a Canadian team is just perfect. Firstly, there are only 6 Canadian NHL teams compared to the 24 American NHL teams. Not to mention probably only 6 out of the 24 teams earn a profit in the US ( ). Secondly, Hockey's a Canadian sport, the Cup is Canadian, and if you're Canadian, why not root for the cup to come back home? It's been over a decade since a Canadian team has won the cup and I can't wait for it to happen again. I'm personally a Vancouver Canucks fan (being from Vancouver of course) but I'm in full support of the Oilers and that's not just because they're Canadian, but it's because I love their brand of hockey, love the guys on their team and love their fans @ Rexall Place. Speaking of which, fans in any Canadian Hockey building just rock.

The whole Canada Vs. American thing isn't for the NHL... lets leave that aside for the Olympics or World Championships or something.

I would've personally wanted an Oilers Vs. Sabres match up over Oilers Vs. Canes, but ah well... at least it's the Oilers Vs. somebody - so can't complain.

I see Michael Jordan just became part the Charlotte Bobcat's ownership group, and the Panther's are looking to have a better season next year.

Roy Williams & Carolina will have a great team in the ACC this year.

Who are the Carolina Hurricanes?? Do they play the Charlotte Checkers in the regular season?
