  • No good deed goes unpunished (a rant)

With my wife and son out of town for the weekend, I decided to do a full detail on my 99 Saab 9-3. Clay, Swirl remover, machine glaze, # 21 X 2, protect trim, Rain X windows. I also added a steering rack brac, rotated the tires, clayed and detailed the wheels and sprayed the wheel whells with undercoating. going good so far, car looking great.

As I start the car to move it so I can dress the low part of the tires, BANG, and the alternator light comes on. I pop the hood, and there is my tensioner pulley, still whith it's mounting braket attached, just hanging there.

I though t the car would be happy to be so clean, but I guess I must have done something to piss annoy her. Now I get to remove some knuckle skin getting the braket out, and hope the Saab dealer has one in stock tommorow.

    ARRRRRGGGGHHHH.

    Sorry for the rant.

    Glenn.

At least I cleaned the engine bay first, so it's not to dirty in there.

The broken part is now out, about two hours, but should only take 1 to get back in now that everything is loose.

Now to pray for parts availability over a cold beer or two
