Rusty, it is my understanding that fast Willie never really played at UNC. Apparently somebody told Cower that he should check this kid out at UNC, because he has potential. That potential turned into holding the Super Bowl's longest rushing TD now. Up there with the greats of marcu allen. thats a dang good name to be associate with for not playing in college.

o yeah baby march madness is right around the corner!!!

Well, I have to say that was a pretty one-sided Superbowl. Fairly boring to watch IMO if you weren't a fan of either team. I do have to the say the questionable officiating seen throughout the playoffs was continued in the Superbowl. However, the Seahawks were 100% out played by the Steelers. So, the officiating really made little difference in this game.

I do have to say that I thought it was pretty pathetic that Tom Brady was booed by the Steelers fans in attendance during the coin flip. I mean come on! He's just there to flip a coin take it easy.

I also thought comparisons of Big Ben to Brady in the pre-game show were ridiculous. Sure, Ben was younger than Brady when he won his first Superbowl. However, Brady was a first year starter which I think is more impressive considering Ben already has a year of playing time under his belt. Also, Brady was named the MVP of his Superbowl and Big Ben had a decent game at best. I mean the biggest pass of the game was thrown by a wide receiver. Ben's a good QB, but only time will tell if he is as good as Brady who now has two Superbowl MVP trophies and three Superbowl rings.

Well, Ben went something like 14-1 as a rookie. Brady didnt play as a rookie.

Brady won a Super Bowl and MVP his second year. Ben won Super Bowl with a below average performance his second year.

Hopefully a close trend continues.. though with a better 3rd year for Ben than Brady had...

My statement was not so much about one QB being better than the other. It was more about that the comparison of the two was ludicrous. Both players have experienced completely different situations.

Also, Brady's third year as a QB was a good one. It was mostly the rest of the team that didn't play well that year. Also, I'm sure if Tommy Maddox was the Patriot's QB when Brady came on board he would have won the starting job a lot quicker. Again, just pointing out that comparisons between the two are silly at best.

Well Murr, I must say when OSU lost to PSU this year, I was down in the dumps, but they both had outstanding years and if OSU had to lose to anyone, then PSU and Texas were pretty decent teams to lose too.

I always root for the Big Ten no matter who they play...

I think Willie played some at UNC, but not enough to get noticed by the NFL, until he tried out for Pittsburgh.

It seems that an in-law of the Rooney family has a medical practice in Willie's home town of Clinton, NC. The doctor kept tabs of Willie's tallent over the years and informed the Rooneys about him after he left school more or less.

I never heard of him around here until he made it big with the Steelers. I'll bet this doesn't bode well for John Bunting (UNC's football coach).....He's been under the gun of late.
