Do you ever wonder where members go? This is with all message boards but sometimes people just disappear. Sure there are the ones who post a few posts, only need a question answered every once in a while or just read without posting but sometimes frequent posters just poof... disappear. Who knows may be I am the only one who wonders.

Those are very deep thoughts grasshopper.
Sometimes peoples situations just change. They go to school or stop going to school, get a different car and their interest changes. Stuff happens. Sometimes they just want to try something different.-Bob

Interesting: I was thinking about this myself, earlier.
Often times, people will be excited about a new board, post 100s of times for a couple months, then get bored without multiple new topics. These members usually move elsewhere.
Sometimes people's feelings get hurt during flame wars.
Some people don't feel the board is a fit for them.
Work seems to be a big one. Lately, we've had to crack down more in our office for people doing random, non-work related internet activities. Perhaps this is the case in other places, as well.
Un and underemployed folks tend to have more time to post, as well.
Had this board been in my repertoire when I was still in business, I'd probably have posted lots of pictures and had many more active business-owner/operator questions. Once I sold it, I'm not sure how often I'd have been on here. Now I'm here because I miss the action and still like to learn about the new products (and use them from time to time.)See the big picture, enjoy the details

Yes, I DO enjoy this forum and the folks on it. This is far more knowledge and experience than we ever had in our local market. It's a great exchange!See the big picture, enjoy the details

Wow. It's funny that this is the first thread I see after being away for a few months. I didn't leave because I bored with the site, it's just that I had other priorities to focus on for a while. So I haven't been posting and also have not been able to keep up on the regular cleaning of my car. I guess the lack of cleaning my car was a reason for not visiting/participating on the site
I guess it has a little to do with the winter season. But like I said, I've been busy. During the week, it's work. On weekends, erands. But I'll definitely be back. If not today, soon

I was thinking about that. There is another board I've been a member for many years with over a thousand posts, job-related (IT).
I realized that I was working in IT all day and when I got home in the evening and during the weekends, I never really got out of it. Always fixing/installing/analyzing a computer, network or a project of both for relatives, friends, friends' friends, etc...
I decided to change my habits, diversify. Other than computer work, what did I like ? Detailing my car certainly. I could do that for others too.
I still love my IT job, but this new hobby is a plus.
I still follow the IT news, but I haven't posted in an IT board for months. I wonder if someone over there is wondering what happened to me.

I also post mostly on Jeep forums and Audio/Video forums, thats what I tend to specialize in. Car care has long been a hobby of mine, but more recently have I started to really work indepth on fixing my paint.
also what happened to Jeff Smith he posted over 1000 posts then bam! no more postsPatrick Yu

I think I fall in to this category. I was here religously every day when this forum first started. At a point it got too overwhelming to keep up with though. Also I figured I learned most of what I wanted to know (I know this could never really end). I also moderate on a couple of other forums so I have to dedicate a lot more time to those now. I do pop in once in a while and check whats going on though. I think I'm going to try and check the break room here more often from now on though. I deffinitely still like the meguiars scene.Later,

I tend to be a reader, I read allot of threads but not only here...
Corvetteforum
Crossfireforum (82-84 corvette & GM related intake manifold design)
1982 Collector Edition registry (the vette I own)
AzVette.net (our local corvette hangout)
Ford Truck Forums (cause I own 3 of them)
AzsoloII (local autocross forum)
And of course there's always some stock market stuff to look at...
I am moderator on one and and admin on another, so I end up doing some editing and web work on them....
It's real easy to read, and not comment. It's bad to do it, but thats how I fit them all in at night...
