I had problems with hand or machine application........But I was thinking.......If the product has to dry, then maybe I was working it in too much, as it was trying to set up ?

But on the other hand, if I didn't work it in enough, then I would have to reapply the product in order to get any cleaning power from it ?

    Just thinking out loud.

There is no such thing as a Meguiars museum.........(I made that up)

What I meant, was that we have an auto paint (PBE) store that carries a very large selection of Meg's products, and some of the items have been on the shelf for about 20 years or so!

They have bottle #'s that I've never seen before.

I'd like to ask permission from the owner to take a picture of his stock one day and post it for all to see.

I guess what I'm asking is how aggressive was it, to find its contemporary functional equivalent.

I've read elsewhere that it was more abrasive that Body Scrub, but less than ScatchX...but I'm not sure if that's accurate...thus, my question.
I would suggest if you want to use something similar, to use some M09 Swirl Free Polish, this is a very light cleaner/polish like the Gold Class Clear Coat Prep & Swirl Remover was.

Rusty, I fell for that one...I'll have to re-learn what irony is.

        Mike, #9, gotcha!

I guess I banter (Light hearted humor) too much sometimes.

But it was an informative thread for me anyway.

          Glad you got help too.

Removing dried on CC Prep & Swirl reducer

I have used this product by hand and recently with a random orbital polisher. Unfortunately, I ran out of microfiber towels to wipe up, and by the time I got back to the car, the Clear Coat Prep & Swirl Reducer was dried on. Some of it washed off with vigorous scrubbing, but a thin film remains on the front fascia. How can I get this stuff off?

A dedicated paint cleaner, or Clay and a paint cleaner should do the trick.. Did you try reapplying the product, working it in, and removing before it dries?

Squirt it with quick detailer or distilled water.

If I'm not mistaken, GC CC prep & swirl reducer is supposed to dry before you remove it.

I've even had problems with it myself, as I stated earlier in the thread.

I did try reapplying and polishing again. Some came off, some did not. Washing the car didn't help. What it looks like to me is a whitish haze. I tried some 9 and it may do the trick, but I didn't get consistent results. I haven't gotten real serious with it, haven't had the time. BTW, the day I first used it, was a hot one. So it also kind of baked on, as it gets pretty hot in my garage.

Does anyone still have some of this? I would like some for my personal use. Old or new does not matter! Thanks John

This thread is six years old. If anyone has any left I'd suspect it would be well passed it's use-by date. You should try the new Ultimate paint preps - they should work better and easier.

Gosh, I had forgotten about this old thread.

I wonder if my bottle of Gold Class Clear Coat Prep & Swirl Remover is still around?
