    Nxt Tech Paste Wax
    Wonderful Product

This product is very very nice. It goes on/off very easy. The directions said to wait until dry. I waited about 25 mins. because the temp was about 40* in my garage. I purposely applied the product too thick but it came off very easily w/ little smearing.

The paint felt butter smooth after taking it off, which was pretty neat, seeing as i really need to clay and do some light polishing, but that will have to wait til spring.

The look of this wax is incredible, i would say it is basically the same as the liquid form, save the gloss. The gloss is outstanding. The best that i have used.

There are really no cons of this wax that i found, it didnt stain trim. Durability is my main area of interest here. I want to see how long this will last in comparison to the liquid form of nxt, which i get about 2 months out of..

I also used NXT insane tire shine on the tires. My initial thoughts on this are that it 1) stinks 2) VERY shiny/glossy/wet.
I will also have to wait and see how long it lasts. This is definately not a product for someone who doesnt like shine. By FAR, the shiniest tire dressing i have used. But I, for one, enjoy shine. So i will continue to use it, if it doesnt sling.

Attached are pics of the car w/ nxt paste. Hope this review was helpful.

Thanks for the review. The Cougar looks great! One thing that amazes me is how NXT adds very high gloss to lighter colors, which is difficult to do.

Does the Insane Tire Shine have more gloss than Hot Shine for Tires?

nxt insane shine does have more gloss/shine than hot shine, my tires never got that 'shiny' when using hot shine, but w/ insane shine they were VERY shiny, just how i like them

I really like the Tech Paste Wax. It applies very easily. It has that glide just like Mike says. It also removes easily, about the same as the liquid form. Even if you apply too much, it still wipes off easily.

The water seemed to jump off the surface of the paint as I rinsed after washing it. Fewer towels were needed this time.

I have not done a side-by-side comparison, but it seems like the paste version has a little bit more pop. It is not a night and day difference though.

The only problem I had was with the can. When I closed it, I must have tightened it too much. It was almost impossible to get it open again. I had to apply so much force to open it that I dented the can! I hope it doesn't develop an air leak and dry the wax out. It seems to be OK though. I'll know for sure when I open it to apply a second coat this weekend. I do like the gasket they put in the top of the can to help seal it though.

Overall I give the Tech Paste Wax a .

I also tried the Insane Tire Shine. It is extreme and that is just what I was looking for! It is even better than the Hot Shine. Even after a car wash, the shine is still there. So the ESP polymers must be doing their job.

            I also give Insane Shine a .

I cant even imagine how long this stuff will last in summer conditions

I agree. As a matter of fact I'm going outside in a few minutes to apply another coat to my tires. It's 50 degrees out today and I want to take advantage of the good weather to add another layer and maybe even more shine!

I have become confused about dressings for tires that look great but are not that good for the tire in the long run.

Are megs tire products safe for tires, to put it simply?

Perhaps i am misunderstanding the problem *shrug*

Never had a problem with any Meguairs tire product. Their chemists know enough to make products that are compatible with tires. They have had a lot of experience at it. If anything, their products help tires throught the use of anti-ozonants that help prevent rubber breakdown.

Does anyone think that topping NXT Paste (or liquid for that matter) with #16 (my personal favorite) is worth it? I just ordered some NXT paste and planned on:

3M PI Machine Glaze (sorry guys)
NXT Paste - cure for 24 hrs
                      #16

I know Scottwax has had some success with this but just wanted to see if others thought it was worth it. Sounds like NXT makes the finish explode but I love the durability and beading of #16.

When you're driving your car, the only thing between you and the road are your tires. Meguiar's would never manufacture any product that would have a negative effect on the rubber and risk your safety. You can place your trust in the Meguiar's name.

I figured as much Mike. I thought i would ask, because i am sure there is stuff being sold over the counter that is "not good" for the rubber.

I talked to a Goodyear tire dealer about this as they were selling the Eagle One Wet tire dressing. They have never heard of a tire dressing causing tire problems. They claimed that the potential liability is too great not to test a product on tires.

Look at what happened to Ford when they told people to inflate the tires on their SUVs to just 24 psi so they would have a smoother ride. Of course Firestone took the brunt of that liability though.

I agree that there may be some products that are harmful to tires, but I don't think that would be the case with a reputable company like Meguiars or Eagle One. I trust the Meguiars R&D chemists that they would not develop a product that is harmful to tires.
