  • overkill ?

As I am in the process of getting my system down I was wondering....

Is putting down a layer of

    #7 glaze
    Nxt 2.0
    #26 hitech

In that order. am I over doing to the point of being redundant?

It looks amazing and the hitech comes off easy but I would like opinions.

      Re: overkill ?

The last time I waxed my truck, that was the wax combo I used, NXT, then M26. So far this has produced the best look yet. That of course is on my particular color(dark blue), and my personal opinion/preference.
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Test it out. Do the glaze/sealant/wax on one fender, and just sealant and wax on another fender. See if the paint pops more with one combo or the other.

            Light pewter metallic.

The car looks amazing. My wifes hhr is next. Which is a darker color and I am still working n seeing on what technique works best for swirl x. The Buick has swirls but with the light it is very forgving. Only in direct sunlight and a trained eye do you see it.

The car was keyed years ago before I owned it. The marks have reduced greatly.

I would just leave it at NXT.

I have found that using straight line motions (vertical and horizontal) workds best for Swirlx and UC. Change directions on each pass from vertical to horizontal for the best results. I tried using circular motions on my CooperS and it wouldn't work but as soon as I used the "palm technique" (below) of holding the pad the swirls started to be removed.

Palm Technique (if you will)- center the face of your palm on the applicator as this allows more surface area of the pad to be in contact with the paint. This seems to give more cut. It also appears that I can apply greater pressure allowing for easier removal of swirls.

Each time I try using my fingertips for the ever fought after "passion", I find more swirls being induced than removed. I know this should not be happening as the product (Swirlxor UC or Scratchx) does not contain anything that would scratch the finish. These have been my recent observations.

Everything done and explained above should be used via a foam applicator pad. These have been, by far, the most successful applicator pads I have used.

To me it is not much more time to put the #26 on my 10" Buffer, Spread it around and then take it off with a Terry Cloth towel, it comes off SUPER easy. I would say 20-30 Mins for the last step.

IF I had time and a space to park her, Id consider a 12-20 hr. cure of the NXT 2.0 and then doing #26 Hi-tech.
