SwirlX is like toothpaste and I don't like the bottle shape...

You get it at ADS or Meg's Direct. My stores carry everything though

I guess I should stay with ColorX then.

Not much said about it anymore.

I might get some water spots (we have hard water) and would color x remove those and swirl marks? The product description says it will but was wondering what all your thoughts and experiences were. Also I have some cleaner wax left and was wondering if it would be ok to use that after color x and before nxt. Wax?
      ColorX is a great product.

If they are mild, it might remove them. It would not be my choice for real defect removal by hand. I would go to SwirlX for that.

ColorX and the Cleaner/Wax are both cleaner/waxes, so they will leave a coat of wax behind. Therefore, ff you use ColorX, you would go straight to the wax step.

Also if you were to use SwirlX, you could go straight to waxing. But you would want 2 coats in that case.

Thanks for all the help, so would you just start with swirlx instead of color x?

            Re: Paint Cleaner

i recently bought a car and on the bottom of the door are these black dots in the paint, i tried the clay bar and they didnt come out, when i rub my finger over them the paint is smooth so i assume they are in the paint and not on top of it, i really dont know what the spots are my guess would be dried tar, any suggestions and what is the difference between swirlx and scratchx? i also have minor scratches and very small imperfections around the car what use on them as well?

one more question, what ever product you recommend can i use it on the whole car to clean the paint or should i stick to using it on only the spots that need it, they paint is in very good condition beside the imperfections i mentioned.

You cab apply the Colorx then remove it immediately before the polymers setup then apply the NXT if you want.

You can try SwirlX on them, and use it on the entire car.

SwirlX is NOT a replacement for DC1. At all.

If they phase it out, I guess I will be getting my designated paint cleaner from someone else then.

There was a thread somewhere from one of the staff. If i remember, saying that DC1 will still be available outside the US. That's probably why I don't see SwirlX over here(?).

You could order a few bottles from ebay-UK in one go. You'll pay a bit more, but if you really like something it's worth it. I still have to order stuff from the UK as I can't find many products here.

What about the old ScratchX? It's even milder than SwirlX. It's okay to work with. Similair to DC1. Easy,on/off. Have you tried it?

I was just looking at the meguiars website and it said color x is a wax. Have any of you used it as a wax? What I was going to do this weekend is wash and then put the cleaner wax on as a polish and then nxt wax. Should I just use color x or color x then cleaner wax and then nxt wax or not?

                          Hi Black,

You can use ColorX as a polish, and then top it with NXT. I've that many times myself, although I remove ColorX before it dries.

That's a good combination too, but ColorX will do a better job of removing contaminates from the finish. It all depends on how much cleaning power you desire.

I prefer to use ColorX, let it dry so you let the wax set, and then use Nxt.
