Re: HELP! Having issues with Deep Crystal/M07

Well happy to report I have no issues now. I polished and applied NXT 2.0, gave it plenty of time to dry and all is good. I must have taken the Deep Crystal off too soon and this caused the problem.

    Thanks for everyone's input!

Re: HELP! Having issues with Deep Crystal/M07 RESOLVED

What's with editing my post? This is the second time!! Don't want anyone to read that there may have been an issue with the Deep Crystal wax? I have been waxing cars for 20 years and this is the first issue I have ever had. Plus I redid the job with another Meguiars product with excellent results!

To all that may read this before is is censored, I originally said that I may have taken it off too soon or there was a problem with the Deep Crystal, but one of the mods took out the part about the product being bad and just left in the part about me taking it off to quickly.

Not impressed! Makes me want to buy from a competitor next time!

Cosmo, none of the mods edited your prior post with regard to anything negative that might have been said about one of our products. Had your post been edited there would be a small note generated at the bottom, in italics, with the name of the person who did the edit. You mention this being the second time your post has been edited, but I find no indication of any others being edited (all of your posts up to this point have been in this one thread).

We only edit posts on MOL if they contain foul language, attacks on other members, or they contain commercial links that are not allowed as per the TOS. If you look around MOL you'll find plenty of threads that contain negative comments about our products - in the majority of those cases it was because the product was used incorrectly. Even then, we do not go back and edit those posts. As a matter of fact, should a member come across a product that truly is defective in some way (and yes, it does happen, we aren't perfect), we want to know about it. Whether it's a small issue or a large one, it's only through this sort of communication that we can track issues and correct them. Editing these comments serves no purpose for us.

I have NEVER seen a post edited on this forum for a negeative comment about a Megs product.

The title of the tread was changed to include M07 which I did not do and in my first post I said that I eliminated M07 as being the issue. I also said in post 16 that the product my have been bad and that was removed too. Sorry....

Next time you're at it (hopefully soon), just give it a Dawn wash and re-wax with a foam applicator pad, and use the least amount of wax imaginable each time you apply it to the pad. A tiny droplet will go a long way, even when it's virtually invisible.

Let it dry for a good thirty minutes. Slowly buff off with a clean, twice-folded microfiber cloth, in long overlapping slow zigzags.

Wait some minutes more, then reapply a second, thin coat. Buff off.

Come back a few hours later and do a final wipedown for those wax streaks that weren't initially apparent or visible when you buffed. Enjoy.

I added the M07 very early on because your initial post discussed it as a potential problem. I was simply attempting to help you get as much help as possible. Titles lacking specificity will really reduce how many people open the thread to try and help out.

If you would prefer, I can leave the help out next time. Just let me know.

As for a moderator editing your post, there are only 4 possible people that could, and none of us recall doing it. The data base also lacks ANY note of an edit to the post.

Maybe it is possible that you accidentally deleted some of your post as you were working on it? Regardless, we have no reason to hide a negative remark about a product.

Think about it- probably 50% or more of the posts on MOL are about people having a problem with products, and yet you are the first person that has said they had a negative comment censored in my time here as a moderator. We not only allow negative comments (as long as they aren't senseless bashing), we prefer them over people staying hush about a problem because then we have no way of fixing it, or helping others that may have the same problem.

                Make sense?

Again, I apologize for adding the "M07" to your title, my intention was to speed up getting your issue resolved. I'll refrain from that in the future.

Possibly I may have deleted some, thanks for your post mark.

cardriver: I DEFINITELY didn't let it set for 30 minutes like you mentioned in your post. I am sold on the NXT 2.0 as it worked really well for me. The car has been out in the sun and rained on and so far all I have had to do is spray it with some QD and it looks great! I will keep the Deep Crystal for one of my other cars or maybe as a topper to the sealant.

Re: HELP! Having issues with Deep Crystal/M07

That probably explains the streaks--The fact that the wax didn't have enough time (I give my NXt ~30mins) to dry before buffing .

                      Just a thought...
How long ago was the car repainted before you started detailing if? Could it be too short a delay, thus the "sweating" of the paint?
