  • Ultimate Compound consistency?

Hi, I've been using Ultimate Compound for the past few days. Well, for one it works great and as advertised.

But something's concerning me because the consistency is almost water like. I used Swirl-x and it's a nice thick consistency, like lotion. I would imagine since Ultimate Compound is supposed to have more cut than Swirl-X, is it supposed to be watery like?

    Thanks!

Did you shake it up really good? It may have just separated a bit. It's supposed to be about the same consistency as Swirl X and very light orange in color.

I've noticed this as well. The UC is thinner than Swirlx and while at walmart one day, I shook all the UC bottles and they all sounded the same consistency, which sounded a little watery. Shake up your bottle really well and see if it changes anything...

        Re: Ultimate Compound consistency?

Yup I shook the bottle until my arm hurts lol. And unfortunately it's still very watery.

I've been applying it by DA, and what annoys me about it is that by the time I touch the pad on the car, some of it literally runs off the pad and onto the ground.

While the Swirl-X is like more like normal compounds and just sticks to the pad, and IMO makes it easier to spread.

However, Ultimate Compound still seems to work rather well in it's Watery consistency.
So that's why I was wondering if that's just how the product is.

And thanks for the quick replies^^ as well as the welcome! I've been lurking these forums most of the time, and decided since I'm starting a new detailing business here in Tracy, CA. I might as well start contributing questions and things like that.

I'm reviving this thread instead of starting a new one because my situation seems identical to what others have mentioned.

Got a bottle of UC yesterday and it's the consistency of water. I haven't used it but if I were to put some on a pad it would without a doubt run off. I'm in Canada and Meguiar's Canada told me that they don't or can't sell UC here. I bought this from an online store in the US where I've already paid shipping costs etc. All said and done it cost me twice what Americans pay at Wally Word, etc. Thoughts as to what I should do? Should I just live with it? I'm placing my order for a G110 from Meg's Canada this week so it's not like I can even try it out anytime in the next few days.

The watery UC is not normal as mentioned above...Since you are in Canada and bought it from an on-line store in the US, we suggest you contact that e-store / dist and let them know your situation....

Hi Mike, am I right to say that UC should be as thick as SwirlX?
The UC that I have is much watery that the SwirlX.

                      Re: Ultimate Compound consistency?

UC should have a lotion consistancy to it or so I'm told, my UC has that consistancy. SwirlX is much thicker than UC, almost hard to get out of the bottle or like me, impossible until one removes the seal.....

Here are some pix of the UC I had that was watery.....This is as I'm pouring and snapping pictures. I got a new bottle from Tom and he requested the batch number, a number in yellow usually on the back of the bottle, give Customer Service a call.

No, UC is not as thick as SwirlX. It should have a smooth / lotion feel & look to it.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I've thought about it a bit more and I think I'm going to pass on the process of explaining this to the online store where I bought it (appears to be a tool store). I'll most likely have to ship the bottle back to them and everything which will cost me more than the bottle is worth so I think I'm going to just use it. I think I read in this thread that the product will still work. I'll just do the best I can trying not make a mess. Wish me luck.

What's the lot number on the bottle of watery UC? I bought a bottle and it was watery too (nothing like my other bottles of UC.) The lot number was M81918434.
