    Re: Ultimate Compound consistency?

^ Where you asking me? I can get it if you want. I used my UC over the weekend and as much as I shook it up, it was still watery. I still used it anyway though.

I see you're from Southern Ontario. I know UC isn't available in Canada so you get yours from some place online?

      Re: Ultimate Compound consistency?

Bought my first bottle of UC this morning. It sounds like a bottle of water. Guess I'll return it to Wal-Mart tomorrow. Opened it up, and I'd describe it as very thin looking milk. It's white, but thin as water. Talked to customer service, they said if Wal-Mart doesn't take it back to give them a call back.

I think the lot number for mine is: M81928435. The number is a tiny number almost etched in to the back of the bottle near the very bottom.

Just a heads up in the future, make sure to shake all the bottles they have (of any product anywhere) and check the consistency so you get the best one (also check and make sure the seal isn't broken). I've shook up a bottles that sounded like water, but others sounded and felt thicker.

          Re: Ultimate Compound consistency?

Some one posted a thread before asking if anyone else's UC separated. I mentioned that it seemed that mine had. What I was really seeing was that the UC was like water... and it has some fine sand like particles. I thought the UC was a bad batch so I went to a few Walmarts and shook the bottles as mentioned here. All seemed to be the same. It certainly does not come out of the bottle like lotion. If I tip the bottle the UC just flows out like water. I figured that was just the way it was. I find that I really need to be careful about putting it on my pads as I sometimes forget and turn the bottle too far. UC spills out all over the place.

No, that's not the way it is. The ones you shook at walmart are all bad too.

There seems to be A LOT of bad batches going out. Although it at least doesn't seem to be effecting how it works.

              Re: Ultimate Compound consistency?

Took my bottle back to Wal-Mart and returned it and headed back to the shelf. They had probably 20 or so bottles on the shelf. I went through 8 or more before I found one that sounded thick. Even shook a few of the thin sounding ones for a few minutes and it still sounded like water.

The new bottle looks like a lotion coming out of the bottle and is mildly pinkish. The stuff I took back was like water and white in color.

              This stuff works great!

I knew something was wrong when I got mine a coupe months ago. It seemed way too watery. Do I just call them and they'll send me a free replacement bottle? If anyone else wants to check lot numbers with mine, I believe mine is L82018318

I have the same issue with my UC, it comes out like water. Is Scratch X 2.0 thicker? If it is I might pick that up.

I ordered mine from Autogeek.net. Advance Auto Parts stocks Meguiar's products in their stores just across the border, so I'm thinking of driving down there next time I need more UC.

I just did the same thing at PepBoys in Michigan. The first bottle I grabbed sounded like water. I tested the other two and they seemed normal. The one that sounded like water seemed to have a 'blown out' bottle too (no squeeze to the bottle). Not like the other two bottles.

They all had the seal on them.

I just had the same problem with UC that I bought at Walmart and Rick w/ Meguiars customer service took great care of me.
