Re: Ultimate Quik Wax: MUST READ - WARNING

I tried some on my black mustang on Saturday and actually had a tougher time with it. I found it to streak quite a bit. I basically sprayed it on after a wash (most of the water was blown off with an electric leaf blower) with what little water was left on the paint and then came around and buffed it off. It reminded me of the first NXT 1.0 wax in the way it streaked. I will try it one more time before making my final judgment though.

Re: Ultimate Quik Wax: MUST READ - WARNING

I've now had a single layer of UQW on my truck for almost 5 weeks and has endured 3 washings. Still beads like the day I put it on.......and it's the only protection on the paint. Glass is still beading as well.
      A winner here.
Just can't wait for the gallon sized "PRO" version to hit.

Just to be clear, when you sprayed it on the vehicle, did you spray and leave it to dry without touching it on the whole vehicle? Or did you spread the product around a little bit, then allow it to dry?

Did you do the whole vehicle in a single application, or in sections?

What did you use to apply and remove the product?

I had no streaking problems at all. None. Not even on the glass and it was used in full sun.

I loaded my towel with two sprays. I then misted each panel once.......the hood twice. Wiped in and flipped the towel and buffed dry.

You know, per the instructions. Guess what? They were right.

I *think* his streaking issues stemmed from Applying the UQX to the entire car while it was still partially wet. The water could have made it hard for the wax to fully dry, and thus it streaked when he attempted to remove it.

I too had no streaking issues. I wash, then dried my vehicle, and followed it with the UQX application.

Anytime I've tried a product that was a "wax as you dry" type, it ALWAYS streaked.

Now it's different with Last Touch. I use it full strength on wet vehicles since it is dilutable.

I suppose with a little water left on the panels, that might have been my issue. That is just how I always used spray waxes before. I am going to try it one more time today on 100% dry panels.

I have been on the fence about this. After reading this thread, I will add it to the arsenal.

Trust me, you will love this stuff. I was never a fan of spray waxes...but this stuff is really different. Actually, to be honest, I find it similar to Optimum Car Wax, but actually slightly easier to use (OCW will occasionally streak, and this has been noted by many people), and it definitely kicks it up a notch with the Hydrophobic action.

I have, and used OCW fairly regularly...until I got my hands on UQW. Now it sits in the cupboard...

How did you make out when you used it on a completely dry car? Would like to hear your updated thoughts.

How often are you supossed to use the uqw? After every wash, every other? How would you say it compares to aquawax? I have a bottle of aquawax and have only used it a few times and it seems to work pretty good but not sure if I am using that right either or not often enough.

Much better. I still had some very light streaking is some areas, but another pass with a clean microfiber took care of it. I tend to use VERY light pressure when wiping off products which is probably why this happens. When you have a black DD, you want to take every precaution to prevent inducing defects. This is just one of many habits that I have developed to help.

I will say that UQW does seem to leave a very slick finish. Call me crazy, but I also noticed some light filling abilities. Anyone else see this?
