That is all the info I have also. It is some where in the states. Hope it gets here soon.

Better get someone to check your deliveries. I have a feeling that M16 will be even more difficult to apply and remove if frozen.

I went to USPS and copied the tracking number from Canada Post, and I got this message. Looks like it's valid, yes?

Woo Hoo! Just picked up my M16 from USPS this morning! It appears to be ok.

It's like 3 days of x-mas for me this week!

M16 and an order from Autogeek came today.

big order from ADS arriving tomorrow (M205), and then x-mas on Thurday.

Rasky, do you have a car lined up to use the 205 on? If so, I would love a write up..

I have a black Passat I should be able to try it on this weekend. It will depend on the weather though. Right now it's so cold that they closed the car washes by my house. If it opens up for Friday I'm going to take on the car.

Re: mirror glaze #16 paste wax

                      Resurrecting an old post here...

So, I had heard good things about the mirror glaze #16 wax, so I ordered some online. Unfortunately, I didn't read this post until after I waxed. In retrospect, I probably should have done this, but I scooped some of the wax out with my hand and applied a decent ammount to a cotton bonnet on my 10" orbital polisher . I applied the wax and let it dry to a white paste. I wasn't sure how long to wait.. I probably gave it about 45 minutes on a cool, overcast day. Then, I put the buffer bonnet on the polisher and went to buff it off... Wow! that stuff does not like to come off. I wasn't sure what to do, but I took some soft 100% cotton towels that I had and was able to remove all the wax after about 2 hours of rubbing pretty hard :\ I had to rub hard enough that I was pretty worried about the paint. Luckily, I had done a hand wash and thoroughly used a clay kit before hand, and it did not feel like I was scratching or damaging anything. It looks really nice now, but yeesh, that was some painful stuff to remove.

                      I'm wondering a few things:

                      1) what I should have done differently?

                      2) is the wax really worth it?I'm embarrassed to say that this was my first wax job, so I don't really know how it compares to other waxes.

                      3) With all of the hard rubbing I had to do, it almost seems like I would have just rubbed all of the wax off. Is that possible?

                      Thanks for any tips, guys.

One warning I have is to not get the wax on plastic. My Land Rover has a lot of plastic trim and fenders, and the wax is nearly impossible to remove; especially from the plastic that is not smooth. I have been outside for a while removing the wax from the plastic with a toothbrush and toothpaste, and I still have some left to do!

Sounds to me like you applied it way too thick. The key to applying M16 is to apply it whisper thin, wait about 5-10 minutes (M16 dries pretty quickly), and then remove. So ideally, you could do a few panels and then go back and remove. You should be applying absolutely no thicker than this:

If your wax job looks like this:

you are going to break your arm trying to get it off, especially with M16. Whisper thin is the key. Hope this helps!

Yeah I am pretty sure I applied it way too thick. I just hope I didn't damage the paint

I just read in another thread that it was probably too cold for me to have done it too, It was probably 45 degrees and probably got down to freezing before I finally got all of the wax off. I guess it's supposed to be between 55-90F for most products, unfortunately I wasn't trying to get this done before the nasty winter weather, and we probably won't see 55F until March :P

I good piece of advise someone reposted was from one of the Mikes.... place a foam applicator on top of the wax in the tin and turn it 1/4 turn with no downward pressure. This is how much wax you want to work with. This will give you an idea of how thin to apply the wax. After that, you can work the wax how you want, knowing what a "thin layer" is.

I like the wax for winter use. I also like Collinite 476s and 845 as they are all hard waxes. I think Collinite 845 is a little more glossy but I'm still impressed with Megs #16.

While many people have recommend letting the wax dry only partially, I let it dry completely and then remove. I find if it's applied lightly and to a good prepped surface that it's not difficult to remove. Everyone's mileage may vary.

agree... you really do NOT want to lay m16 down thick... super super super thin is the way to go. That way you'll save your arm strength and swirls on car from all the tough removal. But m16 beading is well worth the effort!
