    Hey.

If you don't like it: WHY BOTHER CHECKING IN!

I have gotten alot of help from Tim also. I agree with Mike, he is one of the most helpful people here. There is no room here to criticize. Maybe you should find another forum.

Anyway, does anyone have some experience with NXT longevity on wheels? Also, would wheel cleaner strip the NXT?

        Hey,

I have had great success with NXT durability on the wheels. Because it is a sythethic polymer, it seems to resist the heat cycles our wheels go through. I have always used a polymer on my wheels for that very reason.

In terms of wheel cleaners, that is a tough one as it depends on the cleaner and the active ingredients used. Some wheel cleaners I will not let near my wheels! With the NXT, I have not had a need to resort to a wheel cleaner. I willl be testing the New Detailer Series Wheel Brightener D-140 very soon. I will post a follow-up thread. Fair enough?

        Cheers!

Yet again 2hotford goes the extra mile. Do you ever sleep? Or is the 2hotford avatar actually a collection people. You seem everywhere!

            As for the "hey" issue.

Since I am 17 the use of "hey" as a colloquialism makes me feel at ease. I feel like 2hotford is one of my "homies". I feel that I can relate because of this "propa" greeting. To further enhance the "phat" experience I wish that 2hotford would end all of his posts with "peace out dawg" or similar "hip" greetings/salutations.

            Sincerely,
            A punk

(please disregard this post beacause it is a stupid attempt at humor)

When a detailing forum is no longer a public forum then it must be a private club.

I have learned from experience that on many of the forums everything will go along fine as long as you remain a follower and agree with everyone. And it is especially important to agree with the moderators. However, as soon as it becomes clear to them that you are not thinking like everyone else, without warning, your posts either end up getting deleted or you get banned.

In many cases, the forum owner will simply have a member banned because they really have no idea how to deal with someone who thinks outside of their imaginary box. From the reaction of their moderators, it is clear to see that they begin to get a bit paranoid whenever one of the non-followers appears to be going in a different direction.

It is okay with me. I was never one for being a follower anyway. If I wanted to be a follower, I would still be working for my former employer. I will stick to being my own boss. It is more fun.

                      2 cents warning!

I don't believe that the reaction to the "hey" comment was paranoid or overly hostile. Anyway the comments, however unrelated to car care, have not been deleted (I would have deleted them). The moderators have their right to do this, they have been entrusted with this site by Meguiar's. This is a completely free website, remember this. I think the reaction came more from the commment being unexpected and unprecedented. It's not a matter of "following", it is a matter of being respectful to a guy who knows his stuff. 2hotford and all the other moderators take a personal interest in this site and should be appreciated. Lets remember:

                      ITS ABOUT CLEANING WHEELS!!!

And now to end on a positive note:

                        Hi Frank,

Members are encouraged to ask questions and are free to voice their opinions. We would never ban someone because they are not "following" or using a particular product.

However, people may be asked to go elsewhere if they lead into personal attacks/insults or rude comments against other members. MOL is a friendly place and it will stay that way.

Now, to everyone, let's get this thread back on to the topic.

Frank, if you have any concerns, please PM them to me.

I have had great success using #26 Yellow Wax on painted and custom finished wheels for years and never had a problem. #26 seems to also resist heat cycles too.

Since NXT is still rather new, I'm not really sure how anyone can accurately measure NXT's durability on wheels.

Of course, most would agree that applying a sythethic polymer should be better when it comes to the heat cycles that wheels go through. For now, I think I'll stay with using #26 for wheels.

                            Hey!

I've been away from the forum for a week or so.

Just to chime in. I have the utmost respect for 2hotford and the many others who have shared and helped me learn so much about detailing!

I've always viewed 2hotford's "Hey" almost as his trademark. Any post I see starting with "Hey", I immediately know it's Tim posting and words of wisdom will follow! Keep using it Tim! (I even thought maybe it was a Canadian way of greeting - eeh? )

Since we're talking wheel upkeep, I have a quick question. I've been using NXT on my wheels with great results. I've read that some QD their wheels every other day or so and I've been doing the same thing.

Just wanted to know if there is any concern in doing this. Will the QD "lift" off the metallic break material safe enough so as not to scratch the paint or would washing with soap and water be better/safer?
A great finish begins with the right start!

                              Hi Frank,

Well, I have been using NXT since last November/December when I was asked to try out Lab Sample E. So, I feel confident with the durability issue. Also, #26 is a great product. It is a blend and perhaps that why you have had good luck with it on wheels.

                                Hey fiberrich!!!

Thank you for the kind words! I really apprerciate hearing that!!! I do not think "Hey" is a Canadian thing, but you never know!

As for using QD on your wheels everyday, that should not be a problem. But with heavy metallic brake dust, I would probably wash them instead, IMHO!

                                Cheers!
