  • 2-step polish and protect

I currently do a 2-step using 205 then following it with 21. I'm looking for a polish that can remove more defects but still be used right before LSP. Any suggestions.

205 is a polish you can try a compound to remove defects try ultimate compound, or 105. Polish will just bring out the shine it does not have abrasives enough to remove paint defects like you want. 2 stage is normally a compound then followed by a polish.

SwirlX will be a bit stronger than #205. If you really needed a boost, Ult. Compound would be even stronger, and finishes out good on many cars.

You also could consider the Paint Reconditioning Cream. That is a stronger cleaner/wax, and a regular wax after wouldnt hurt.

Or looking toward the MF system.

My opinion is to use D300 follow with D301 or LSP.

i use a cyclo, i just bought the new dewalt rotary with the responsive trigger and bale handle, but am not comfortable enough with it to use on a customers car. Does D151 have more corrective ability then 205?

The Aggressiveness Order of SMAT Products - This might surprise you! Super Micro Abrasive Technology = SMAT From left to right, the most aggressive to the least aggressive SMAT products From the most to the least aggressive... M105 Ultra-Cut Compound/M95 Speed Cut Compound = The same in abrading power

for these kind of jobs, i tend to use #205 or #83. Outcome is quite similar. On some paints, #83 cuts a little more.
