    Hi xjdmb16a2six,

There is no need to wait after applying and removing any Meguiar's cleaner/polish or pure polish before applying a wax. I can't explain why you experience any difficulty in applying a wax over a previously polished surface? In fact, that's how our waxes are formulated and intended to be applied.

    Wash
Clean Paint - Using clay and/or a paint cleaner
    Polish - Apply a cleaner/polish and/or pure polish
Wax - Apply a wax, usually two thin coats
