guys, got a hot rod shop and do ground up builds however I have a few black personal cars and living in maine they need a good buffing twice a yr, is there any one step cleaner/polish that will do the trick with minimal swirl marks? or can i use a polish cleaner and is there any glaze or swirl remover that is quick and simple? not looking for a show car finish, if so i would re-clear, flat sand clear with 600,800,1000 so on and buff/polish

Working by hand, DA, rotary?

Working with a Dual Action polisher like a G100/110 would leave the best finish by machine, and the new #151 Paint Conditioning Cream seems like a pretty strong cleaner/wax that a lot of people like.

First off... Welcome to MOL!

Second... Feel free to post some photos of your handy work.

Now on to the questions at hand. D151 is a new one step that just came out. I've used it a few times and it work great at removing light to moderate swirls and it polishes and protects in one step. Like you said you can get better results using three different products but since it's not a show car it works great. Another thing I've been noticing is it doesn't stain black trim so I can save time taping too.

guys thanks for the welcome, a car i did last winter is in camaro performers this month, article is called Beat Down, its got a centerfold etc
i will get some of the new cream I have been using carbos new one step but everything else in th4e shop is meguirs.
i have been wanting to get a meguirs little da polisher combo deal, is it worth it?
i do most work with my makita variable speed buffer 600-3000

my biggest problem is just the washing scratches from washing them a few times a week. and i like just to freshen them up a few times a yr without spending days on them

Also, if you are getting a lot of swirls in your cars from washing, you might want to look at how you wash the car....

If you're not currently using a DA style polisher on your own rides the the rods coming out of your shop you really should investigate these very popular tool.

The remove the swirls after the compounding step on fresh paint jobs, something your street rod owners will really want out of their paint finish.

And for your own cars they're faster and more effective than working by hand or with a traditional Orbital Buffer like this...

The dual action polisher is light weight and easy to control. Because the motor oscillates and rotates at the same time, it provides effective cleaning ability to remove defects like swirls and scratches out of paint without leaving swirls at the same time and without the risk of burning trough the paint.

If you push down too hard on the unit, the motor reacts by slowing down and even stopping both the rotating action and the oscillating action preventing you from swirling or burning through your car's finish.

Compared to working by hand... there's really is no comparison...

It's easy enough to use and master that anyone with a little practice can be producing professional results in no time...

if using my 7 inch makita rotary buffer, which pad woul di want to use with the cream? yellow? part number? who has best pricing on the g110, or the g110 combo kit?

You bet it's worth it.

After all the hard work your shop does you want the paint work to exceed your customer's expectations and that means a swirl free finish in bright sunlight or under the kind of lights you find at indoor car shows.

To insure you're not giving your customers back a paint job that the swirls are merely masked with a product like #7 Show Car Glaze or 3M Imperial Hand Glaze, you want one of your employees doing the final polishing with a DA Polisher, NOT a rotary buffer.

Giving your customer's a show car finish is the icing on the cake... and the DA Polisher is pretty much "Bubba-Proof", especially on black cars.... like this...

I would highly recommend the G110. They do a great job at polishing the paint. As Mike stated they are just about goof proof. I personally like the package deals @ Auto Detailing Solutions. Good deals, great service and Rick is a great person to deal with.
