Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax
Hi Nick. You mention not using DI water which I don't have access to anyway in quantities to rinse under pressure, was there any water spotting?

Meguires Hybrid Ceramic Wax is supposed to be able to be applied over wax. If you try this with other brands they will streak and not bond well.
Is there really wax in this product or is that word just used for marketing? Like NXT Wax.will definitely try this. I think a big mistake people make, not aimed at you m8 is mix products from different lines and companies. Usually the chemists look to achieve synergy between similar products as an excellent example HCW can be used directly onto HLCW without going through the initial application process... that is to say go directly to spray on rinse off... synergy in action. I did a strip wash with Garage Therapy Decon, which is a bench mark, and then went into the Megs ceramics on a clean slate and have fantastic results, and I've layered as above.

I applied the wax scarcely, then used a cheap towel (that soon got quite damp) to dry it off, then a good Meguiars yellow towel to buff it away.
I also cross looked against the light to see for any "milky" areas. There were some, but with a little buffing everything got crystal clear.
Oh and it also makes the windows crystal, too !
A trick that helps is that the drying/spreading towel (the 1st touch) better be small. It gets damp and carries wax with it very soon, so this helps to
distribute quite evenly. The buffing towel should be large and kept dry. I am not experienced so use these at own risk. It's just my understanding of things.
Amazing product, really thanks.

Yes, you can apply Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax to paint protection film. The normal application method on the label is recommended. That said, we would also add that you ensure you apply to a cool surface in the shade, apply to small sections at a time, and do not use a large amount of product. If you leave the product on too long, allowing it to dry, apply it on a warm surface, do not rinse thoroughly, or apply to too large of a section, especially on paint protection film, you run the risk of stains. As long as you follow these recommendations you are good.

It is probably best to have a base coat of wax, then use the HCW. But if not practical, then you can use the HCW regularly instead.
Also, dont need the Ult Compound every time unless there is stuff to fix up.
Thanks for your Valuable advice

Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax
Well, I tried it... Washed the Jetta (white) as usual. It’s always WAY more dirty than I think it is...Brought it home and put a couple coats of HCW on, like I would a regular spray wax. Spray on, rub in, rub off with MF towels. No water or rinsing... Man that car is shiny! It’s 18 years old and I swear it’s never looked this good! I may try adding another coat at some point but hopefully this will make it through the winter. Great thread about a fantastic product. Thanks guys!

Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax
Nick, (or anyone ) all the directions I see advise spraying HCW on a wet car and using microfiber towel to dry (base) or spraying HCW and power rinsing off (on going) Is there a downside to using HCW on a dry, clean car? Or is the whole point simply for convenience? I tend to wash at the local hand held car wash but “wax” at home in the garage so using HCW dry is more convenient for me.
thanks

Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax
Well, no product is going to prevent the car paint from getting hot...
But the general idea is to use the detailing products like polish and wax to keep the paint/clear coat protected and healthy. Then the paint will be able to use its UV inhibitors to keep itself safe.

2. Yes it can build up. This is a good thing.
3. We have not been advised or noticed any special care required for towels used with Hybrid Ceramic Wax.
Hope this helps.

- Can I take #1 to mean that HCW protects against the visible spectrum and heat of the sun but not UV?
- If "no" to the above, which of your sealants do?
Thanks, my car is parked 24/7 outside with no shade so I gotta know.
