The "pleasant smell", does that mean this is not thioglycolate-based? Or does it just have a fragrance added on top of the bad smell?

Great extension to Ultimate line of products, which is super user friendly and high performance. It goes on my shopping list.

Online in Mid December, starting in stores first of year.

Regarding smell, not quite as simply as "adding a fragrance on top" but we have worked to dramatically reduce the smell.

No, strictly for embedded iron contaminants. Will still need to clay after application, if needed, however, this will make the clay process much easier as you have removed any iron contaminants.

Yes, our PRO D1801 Wheel & Paint Iron Decon does have several key differences compared to other options.

It’s specifically formulated for both paint and wheels, so its viscosity is adjusted to suit both application types. One standout feature is its pH-balanced degreasing component, which is particularly effective on wheels but also safe for paint. Being part of our PRO line, it’s available in larger sizes (1 gallon and 5 gallon), and it delivers a significantly higher level of active ingredients—making it more aggressive in performance. However, with that comes a notably stronger odor, which is something to keep in mind.

That said, Ultimate Iron Remover remains a very capable product. If you're ever unsure whether you've fully decontaminated a surface, we recommend simply applying a second round and checking if the paint still reacts (turns purple). You can also allow it to dwell longer—just be sure it doesn’t dry on the surface.

Ultimate Iron Remover offers a more consumer-friendly experience, especially in terms of odor, and comes at a lower investment compared to the PRO D1801. The team really focused on reducing the smell while maintaining solid performance.
