Hello everyone.
Firstly I'd like to say thanks to everyone on here who has offered advice. Without it a newbie could easily use incorrect products/techniques and this will ultimately compromise the finish. I dont think I would have achieved anywhere near the finish I have without the support and wealth of information available on this forum so big
I eventually bought the G100 after much deliberation. It takes a little while to get used to it but after the bonnet I was feeling pretty confident when i came to do the front wings etc.
Due to the poor weather here in England during the last week I was unable to get many before shots
I did have a finish similar to this on many of the panels though (not quite as bad however):

I have one poor photo where you can see some scratches and swirls...doesnt really show the full extent however:

After washing thoroughly, (I actually used a sponge as I felt this would have more cleaning ability on an untreated surface) I then masked up and backed the car into the garage.
Then came the claying:

and more:

not sure what the browney/bronzey residue was....I actually live within 3 miles of a major clay producer - Imerys(formerly ECC) not sure if it is maybe some sort of fallout....
I then progressed onto the #83 DACP - it was necessary to do each section twice in order the reach the level of finish I was looking for. This was followed by an application of #80 all over, which gave this:

I then applied 2 thin coats of #21. What a great product: spreads easily, great shine and initially appears to offer great protection too!!
Finally I topped with a thin coat of #26 to enhance the gloss and bring out the depth in the paint.

Rear quarter:

and another...

and another:

an ant's view:

excuse the wet wheels - I have to find a good way to dry them..dont want to use a shammy etc...
Hope u like the pics! The car btw has done 122,000 miles and is used daily. Im really chuffed with the way its come out.
Again, i cant stress enough, how much help this forum has been. All application techniques I used can be found here:
Product/Pad/Speed
and here:
How to remove swirls etc with G100
I simply adapted these to the products I had.
Also if anyone can advice on the best way to maintain the finish now I have it how I want it. How often should I be reapplying wax if washing weekly and using sheepskin mitt etc...?
Thanks for looking
