  • Hood repair with M105!!!

i only corrected the hood on this detail.
this car belongs to a woman my wife works with and she asked if i could fix some "scratches". she told me and i quote, "i washed it with something under the sink". so i have a pretty good idea of what was used. after seeing the results she now wants the whole car detailed.

this was a 30-45 min job, i used trusty M105 on w4000 pad with rotary, followed by M205 with W8207 Polishing pad.

the deeper scratches needed to be wetsanded but that is yet something i have practiced, so the deeper scratches left by finger pressure are less visible but still present

Wow they looked nasty and deep. Very nice transition, great job.

I can't fathom that anyone would even think of using "something under the sink" to wash their car. That's just unbelievable... Poor car...

Great job on the recovery though!

yea it was pretty bad, i told her the basics of washing a car but whether she puts those to work is another story, but at least i sold her my services, cant wait to do the entire car.

when i was an apprentice at a dealership we had a green Passat come in with the hood all scratched up. One of the mechanics knew i detailed so he talked to the customer asking if he wanted it fixed. Long story short guy had tree sap on hood and used a S.O.S. pad to remove it and i made $100 cash that day. Some people think if it cleans in the house good then it will clean the car good as well.

nice turn around on the hood

When I was a wee lad I used steel wool to get the bugs off my fathers Bronco.

On the plus side it was white and Ford must use some rock hard paint / clear since I didn't harm the paint at all.

I did get the bugs off.........

Hood looks really nice. Maybe I'm seeing something, but do the headlights need to be redone? Maybe that will be included in the full detail. Looks great.
