This week-end detail, my mother’s 2008 Pontiac G6 GT. Exterior only, interior will be done soon.
The car was completely repainted in 2009 and some part have a lot of orange peal, like the back bumper. The paint has a lot more metal flakes than the original paint had. But like you will see on the after pictures while it is very shiny and wet, it doesn’t have that deep shine and reflection.
Washed rims, tires and wells with Shampoo Plus and APC
Washed with Gold Class, the jambs were done as well
Clay with Meg’s blue clay with a mix of half Last Touch / half water as a lube
Rewashed with Gold Class
Dried with an Absorber and a “The Dehydrator” towel.
#105 on an orange LC pad via PC for a few scratches on both bumpers
Ultimate Polish on a white LC pad via PC on the whole car
One coat of Gold Class Carnauba Plus wax
One coat of #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax to make the flakes pop
Trims got Ultimate Protectant/Black
Tires and wells got ASD
Rims got a coat of Ultimate Wax
Windshield was treated with Aquapel
I must say that the paint now doesn’t even look the same. It has a very wet look and the flakes really pop, thanks to #26 Wax. Ultimate Polish did a good job at removing the light swirls the car had.
Before :
Sorry the sky was cloudy on Saturday morning.
