Richard, you are so good at teaching all of us little grasshoppers to detail our MINIs! And I am totally sold on Meguiar's products! I have a Quick Detail Fetish!!! LOL!

Thanks to Mike Phillips for supporting our C3 get-togethers every month. We are spreading the good Meguiar's word, for sure!

    Cheers!

Thanks again for the great event. It was great to see all of the new faces and the beautifully clean MINI's. It was cool to see all of the Meguiar's products in action. Quick detailer was flowing like water. I really liked comparing the tire care products. It's one thing to see the bottles and cans and quite another to use them to see the results. Go Toshi-san the trim and tire master.

Awesome event, Richard! It was truly inspiring to see everyone pitching in and working together! I went out the very next day in search of the various Meguiar's products that I don't already have (which really isn't that many, heh...). I'm way interested in getting a G100!

I have to say that Bertram (yeah, that'd be my MINI...) has never looked better. I would wager that he looks shinier than the day I brought him home from MINI of Universal a year ago!

You can certainly expect me next time, ready to wash, wax, polish, and crack wise!

Hey, I am not a newbie, here! I know I posted several times last year after Mike Phillips did such a fantastic detailing of Wanda as a demo! I guess when the site crashed a while back, my post-count was obliterated!
          Cheers!

Thanks for the great event, I am so amazed by the clean trim after applying plastic care and trim detailer. Besides I have thrown the stupid Turtle wax away. Tech wax feels so smooth, what a dramatic difference.

Clay bar works like magic, it really removes all those annoying particles, although some hard work is needed. it would be nice if there is some special treatment for those tiny dots.

              Hi MintyCPR,

Yes, you can use Last touch for claying but they recommend you dilute Last Touch 1:1 with water for claying.

So for a large detail party, that's even better because the Last Touch would go twice as far.

              Your Minis all look great!

                Thank you c3 and Meguiar's

I just wanted to say thank you to both c3 and Meguiar's for helping me fall in love with my Ginger all over again. We've only been together a month and a few days, but after Saturday's detailing event, I feel like she is fresh off the lot again.

It was great meeting everyone. Richard was a terrific host. And I learned so much about car care and which products are the best to use on my girl! Meguiar's all the way.

I cannot wait for the next event. Hopefully, Ging will be in better shape. Now, that I know where to go, I can order my products and start detailing every chance I get.

Thanks again for welcoming me to the SoCal MINI owners community.

Looks like a ton of fun! Awesome pics, awesome cars, very cool!

Wish I could get something like that going out here for fbody people, but they tend to spend their weekends at the race track.

Hey Ginger's Mom! It took me several minutes of scratching my head to figure out who this was. LOL. But oooooo I remember now. LOL

Your very welcome! We look forward to seeing you and Ginger again next month! Thanks for stopping by!

                      1/2 the amount!!! Yippie.
Now that's the kinda music my ears like to hear.

U can never save up too much $$$ for mods or track weekends ;-)

                      Thanks again Bill.

Thank you soooo much Richard for yet another great day of detailing, education, socializing and of course comparing MINIs!!!

These events just keep getting better. The photos and posts here convey really well the enthusiasm that went on last Saturday. I personally had a blast and it appears that everyone else did too.

It's so great to learn so much about the Meguiar's wonderful products and how to use them. At every event we have had such a variety of cars and issues that I feel I learn something new every time.

It started raining this morning and when I parked my car and got out, there were beautiful glistening scattered water drops on my shinny black roof! The NXT product is amazing! It was such a pretty sight I forgot to be upset that it had rained all over my clean MINI!!!!

I can't wait to do this again next month. I think Meguiar's and c3 make a great combo and I hope we can work together more in the future.

Thanks again to Richard, all c3 members, new friends and Meguiar's!!!!!!

Hi all! What a great gathering! BTW, just want to know how come no trim masking was done prior to polishing using G100?

                            re: Why no tape?
Mostly due to time and budget constraints. We have a limited amount of sunlight, and limited materials. All the materials we use comes out of my own pocket, and this is a hobby for me, so it gets expensive quickly. In the early days when we just did 3 or 4 cars, no problem, but 15 to 20 on the last session won't keep the wife happy. LOL. Of course Meguiars now supplies the chemicals and buffing pads for me to do the clinics but to supplement that I've also dug into my stash of free products from the various detailing clinics and product accessory events I've attended.

Part of the clinics I teach also goes over what not to do with the G100. That is, don't turn it on with chemicals on the pad, and the pad not against the paint, otherwise it will get everywhere. We usually have atleast one person demonstrate what not to do.

OctaneGuy, thank you very much for your explaination. I was wondering whether are there any techniques which could be applied while using G100 to reduce splatter and polishing dust to minimum so that I don't have to do masking (to save time).

You're welcome. Of course masking is always preferred, but atleast for me, if I'm careful, I find that I can get away without masking for my own car.

I can't say this would be true on all cars, but for my MINI, despite there being lots of plastic trim, it works for me. If I were doing a clients car, I would mask, just for the extra insurance and peace of mind.
