You lucky dog! You got to use Lake-Country's 1-pad system already. . . Oh, and that car is gorgeous! I would be incredibly nervous working on SS original paint on such a rare car.

This particular car was, essentially, a development road going version of McLaren's hugely successful CanAm racers of the late 60's (McLaren cars won the CanAm Championship every year from 1967-71). There's a great write up about this particular car at http://www.mathewscollection.com/mcl...Laren_M6GT.htm

And the fact that you got to work on this car just sort of blows me away. Color me jealous!

Thank you for all compliments from everybody and I am sorry to keep you waiting (although if I was truly sorry I wouldn't have posted in the first place :O)

I don't mind at all Michael,.. but I am a little embarrassed...

That is a great article and the car is very cool. I am very fortunate to be trusted with such unique and irreplaceable art and I do not take it for granted. The car is no longer in the Matthews Collection; it is now cared for by an private collector obsessed with caring for such rare pieces. Some say that he listens to Ace of Base, all we know is he is called Mr. X

I believe you are correct regarding the Manta Kit Care.

Perhaps you have seen the building and some of the cars before in this thread? The Greatest Detailing Adventure Ever Told

Mr. X's collection consists of about 90 of the rarest and most desirable cars from most every genre in the world and I am fortunate to be ultimately trusted to make sure that every car in Mr. X's collection meets or exceeds his expectations and is taken to the highest level.

Last year I was fortunate to be invited alongside Ryan Blanchette (a great detailer) and we had such a great time which resulted in the humorous twist (or at least my attempt at humor) to the thread above. Thank you for the compliments!

I would like to lie and say that I am some super hero of paint polishing who doesn't get nervous when working on 40-50 year old original paint (on the Lamborghini, the McLaren was repainted and now has base coat/ clear coat. However nervousness is good because it forces you to think about every step and keeps me sharp.
