Hey guys, had a fellow hunting partner need some detail work done on his Ford Explorer. His main concern was a quart of spilled milk that had sat in his explorer for 3 days after it spilled without the vehicle being driven. Beyond that he also wanted a basic wash and wax, or my "basic" Premium Detail, he also chose the Ult. Premium interior detail due to odor. Anyway, heres my process with pics to follow.

Process

Wash/Clean

  • Wash w/ Gold Class shampoo/conditioner, 2 buckets, grit guards
  • Wash wheels w/ all wheel cleaner
  • Clean tires w/ Westleys Blech-Wite
  • Clean fenderwells w/ GC soap and a long handled brush

Prep
  • Clay w/ Smooth Surface Clay Kit, Last Touch 1:1 as lube
  • Tape of any/all plastics in direct contact with painted surfaces

Protection/LSP
  • M21 Synthetic Sealant on paint
  • Ultimate Protectant on all exterior black plastics
  • M40 on/in fender wells
  • Endurance high shine tire gel (purple stuff)

Interior
  • Wipe down/scrubbing of whole interior with APC+
  • pre-treat all carpets with APC+
  • LGM with an odor control cleaner x2 on affected milk areas (worked WELL)
  • QID on all interior plastics/vinyls/rubbers etc.
  • new Odor Eliminator x2 on all carpets/seats
