Nice job, it sure was disgusting. That's a great example of knowing what you are doing is going to save you a tremendous amount of time. If a person is detailing with flat rate prices a project like that could kill you.

How much detailing experience do you have jonnyboy? What sort of comments did the owner make after seeing the end result?

Fantastic results. The Expedition looks great. Awesome job. No doubt that you have a new customer.

I would have hyper dressed the back mat, see stuff flying around on a hard turn.... lol. Either way, that car look hammered. I am glad I cant at least half take care of my stuff. Spending 35, 40, or 50K+ on a vehicle and not at least attempt to care of it is beyond me.

Sadly, it isn't beyond me. I found being a dual income couple and parents, where literally my whole life has included either being in school, working a full time job, or both, most of both of our careers being in the software engineering field where there were long days and lots of stress, as my husband is now, you don't have the time or energy or even know-how to take care of a lot of things, and having someone else do it all on a regular basis was out of our price range too.

The reason I am taking care of my car now is that I have learned how to do it.

We have left our landscape in much worse condition than our previous owners had left it, killed a few things. The same for the house, except for the killing things part.

Detailing for me started as a way of having at least 1 small part of my world that was clean and nice and well-taken care of and that I could be proud of. Along the way I have learned some things that I can apply to housekeeping too. Like Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (ironic, I know, but I bought it for the car), where was that all my life? I think if I'd had that I would never have minded cleaning anything!

^ I hear yea on that point. I honestly never had anything that nice until I owned my 2002 Trans Am and this will be a car that I will own for life. I see no need to change it out.

Unfortunately we will not be getting rid of the wife's 2007 Chevy HHR as the note is 13k on it and it's probably worth 8ish if I sold it outright and it only has 21k on the clock. It does not get kept up as good as my nice car but the effort is definitly there. I do not care for the car much as I am very tall but since its not worth disposing of at this time, I will do my best to keep it nice for years to come.

Speaking of which, that car is due for a buffing.....
