  • 2009 Nissan Maxima Detail

Let me begin by saying sorry for not taking before pictures, but the paint did not have any major defects and was fairly clean when I began.

Their were a few minor swirl marks that I went after with some M205 and my buddies Flex.

Since this was my first time using a Flex, we decided to go with a none aggressive approach and use M205 to attack some of swirl marks which seemed to work out pretty well.

This was my process for the paint:

    1. Washed with M62
    2. Mild Detailing Clay
    3. M205 on a W8207 polishing pad with a Flex 3401
    4. M07 applied by hand
5 NXT 2.0 applied by hand

The tires have some left over Black Magic Tire Wet on them. (used prior to my ADS order of Meguiar's products arriving). I now have All Season Dressing which provided some really nice results. The wall of the tires have a lot of small groves so it makes it a bit difficult to get a nice even application. I probably just need to work on my method a little bit.

I want to give the NXT Insane tire shine aerosol a try and see how that goes on. I think with the aerosol, I could get a nice even coat without having to go back with an applicator to spread the product around the tire.

Also if you notice in the one picture, the rear tire wells are lined with fabric. This was similar to an Audi A4 I had. I think its their to reduce the noise of road debris getting kicked up by the tires. Difficult to clean nonetheless. I'll usually go at it with with some APC+ and a brush to clear any stuck material that has accumulated. Any type of tire dressing has zero affect on it. It just absorbs the product like a sponge. Since it has fabric like properties, I might even give some Quick Out a try on this. But for the time being, APC+ and a brush seems to do the job.

                        Well done.
Have the same on my Nissan, took some time to remove(they are held by plastic push clips) and spray painted them, they are actually easier to wash but still not very accessible.
